Feels like we've ALWAYS had that here in the UK.

I think you're alright, matey. In disagreeing, you are NOT disagreeable. It's people like you that make it hard for me to xenophobic against Americans. Am I xenophobic if I just have problems liking your government?
The two occasions I've been to the States, I've loved the people. The authorities less, apart from when they kicked a man off a bus because he felt inclined to be hostile towards my Englishness. Someone else on the bus reported it and I was asked if the guy was bothering me. I just repeated what he said and they asked him to disembark. It was the last bus until the next morning. He was left at a terminus, in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night.I was stunned but very grateful,
And why don't you like Trump? Oh, and what do you mean by your 'Englishness'? Were you wearing a Union Jack and waving a brown betty teapot around asking everyone if they'd like a nice cuppa? You compared me to Hitler for daring to suggest there is such a thing. The Alzheimer's is really starting to take hold. So sad.
Your 'Englishness' clearly doesn't extend to your grasp of the language.ForCruxSake wrote:vegetariantaxidermy wrote:Do you ever run out of stupid, political-agenda-driven buzzwords, labels and jargon? What a mess of words. And Harbal aspires to this!
It's not clear to me whether you understand that dismissing buzzwords, labels and jargon as stupid and political-agenda-driven, is driven by the stupid political agenda of right wing nuts. Of course there are people others find irritating, and driving a wedge between them is simple divide and rule. Either you pay so much attention to language because you are a right wing nut, or you have been duped by them.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:Do you ever run out of stupid, political-agenda-driven buzzwords, labels and jargon?
More labels. Is that what F*x means by 'Philosophy big-boys'? I'm anything but 'right-wing' (whatever that means these days). Using jargon to silence and bully opposition into silence and submission is neither 'right' nor 'left'. It's just a political tool.uwot wrote:It's not clear to me whether you understand that dismissing buzzwords, labels and jargon as stupid and political-agenda-driven, is driven by the stupid political agenda of right wing nuts. Then what do you mean by political correctness?vegetariantaxidermy wrote:More labels. Is that what F*x means by 'Philosophy big-boys'? I'm anything but 'right-wing' (whatever that means these days). You will have to go back over all my comments. I've defined it umpteen times. As a 'big boy' you should know what it means. And yes, I do bother to define concepts, unlike others on here I won't bother to mention. I will give you a hint. In a 'discussion' with your friend F*x, she described me as a 'hate-mongering racist', second only to Hitler himself, for saying the word 'Chinese', and for suggesting that there is such a thing as English identity. No less than a day later she was talking about herself (as usual) as having been targeted unflatteringly for her 'Englishness' on an American bus. I will leave you to puzzle over it.uwot wrote:Then what do you mean by political correctness?vegetariantaxidermy wrote:More labels. Is that what F*x means by 'Philosophy big-boys'? Well, I've seen you use it to "silence and bully opposition", but I don't remember you ever defining it.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:You will have to go back over all my comments. I appreciate that 'big boy' is not a term you brought into the forum, but it is not one I have attached to myself. You'd have to ask ForCruxSake what was meant by it, but as far as I can work out, you are simply using it as "jargon to silence and bully opposition".vegetariantaxidermy wrote:As a 'big boy' you should know what it means.
Good for you. So, what do you mean by political correctness?vegetariantaxidermy wrote:And yes, I do bother to define concept, unlike others on here I won't mention.
It's none of my business. Could we just stick to our own discussion?vegetariantaxidermy wrote: I will give you a hint. Did I say you were "second only to Hitler"? Really? Or are you just flattering yourself using your special ability to bend the truth?vegetariantaxidermy wrote:You will have to go back over all my comments. I've defined it umpteen times. Sorry to butt in, uwot. She's hate mongering.uwot wrote:Ah. You've added some more. It's none of my business. Not at all. I've made only true statements. The truth doesn't end in 'ist'.ForCruxSake wrote:Did I say you were "second only to Hitler"? Really? Yes, you have shown yourself to make racist statements, using the kind of rhetoric employed by those who would gain politically by blaming other cultures for national problems. That does suggest a strong similarity to Hitler, and the National Front and the BNP... and other hate-mongering racists....and that's probably what I said.
I think I may well have pointed out the difference between you and Hitler, being that people actually listened to what he had to say.....but "second only to Hitler"?!! That's just plain old fashioned hyperbole.
(It'd be cool if you put a link up to the comment, to lend credence to the fact I actually did say you were "second only to Hitler", and to further advertise how criticised you have been for racist comments. You do my job for me, by bringing this up time and again, for which I thank you.)
Go and look for it. Your new friend is always ordering me to find links to comments she has made only a few days prior (which I have done, since the poor creature obviously suffers from galloping alzheimer's) so you won't mind me telling you to.uwot wrote:Well, I've seen you use it to "silence and bully opposition", but I don't remember you ever defining it.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:You will have to go back over all my comments. That's not the issue. I very much doubt that you came to your understanding of political correctness by looking it up. The point is that you use it as jargon to silence opposition, exactly as political nuts and their uncritical dupes do.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:Go and look for it.
