:))))

Agreed - music for pussies. Get some Merzbow into you, ladies! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya3JH2kJH94

It should be said that my taste runs more towards Pat Metheney than noise artists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9vfzPA95yM

Then again, for those who believe Pat M is all about arty fusion music and smooth jazz, here's a snippet from an earlier album during a period of depression: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0JPGo9woRo - not what one would expect! That's a true musical artist - they play what they feel rather than sticking to formulas.

Yes Greta, good that you can appreciate it! I like the fact the this music is mostly ad free even on youtube. They don't want to be associated with it. Cheers.

Pluto, I use an adblocker for YouTube. Today my listening is less adventurous than in the past, but I do tend towards weird music, although these days more demanding of beauty. In the past I was satisfied with the buzz of clever or energetic, even when the music did not sound good. I suppose, as with music, art need not be beautiful, depending on what the artist wants to convey.

However, these days I don't want ugly, profound art on my wall any more than I want ugly, profound music in my ears. It seems to relate to ageing. Increasingly feeling harsh and loud sounds feel like an "assault", whereas I used to interpret them as exciting and invigorating.

That could be the pressure of society to conform or that you are evolving musically!

Re: "pressure of society to conform". I tried for many years but I'm not good at playing "normal", although if I'm in the right mood I can fake it fairly convincingly for an hour or two before I get bored and jittery and need to refuel.

The change in taste, I think, partly maturity but maybe what happens organically when one becomes less physically robust with age.

It's simple, cause t's made for a simple machine. And it's beautifull, cause it's simple and not pretencious. Go and listen some broken cristals :)
