I saw the use of 'yous' the other day; a plurality of 'you'. ugly but could be useful.
And I've noticed an increase in the use of 'snuck' by seemingly normal people who think it's the past participle of 'sneak'. Now that Americans are making baby-talk an acceptable part of adult language, perhaps we will start hearing 'bow-wow' and 'moo-moo' in the mainstream too.
Since this is a British website, why such an interest in Americans?

Who are the ones always writing threads about their country and politics, taking it for granted that everyone knows what they are talking about? You really are probably the stupidest person on here.

Nonresponsive since you're the leading generator of threads about Americans with one other person.

All western countries averages are way above that, and once achieving 70 most can expect at least another 15 good years. Some of the most interesting people I know are over 80.
Not me. I have seen too much octogenarian suffering to fancy that lifespan.

Dad was a very determined kind of character but I think that if he could come back and give a verdict of his life, he'd say that his 80s truly sucked. It was a period of enormous loss and pain.
Sorry to hear that.
Both my parents were pretty much done by the age of 78. Dad clicked off in a second with a good mind, due to a heart attack,. my Mum dragged it out for a year with some confusion.
78 is an excellent age, pretty well squeezing out all of the good stuff and missing most of the bad stuff. I'd like to live to 78 :)

Always good to hear of people who pass quickly. It's important to go fast, given that the state still refuses to allow people to control their fate once they are dying and helpless. Moral of the story: try not to ever leave yourself helpless and at the state's mercy - because it has precious little of it.

The God botherers remain in control over people's end of life circumstances http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-16/v ... ee/8031776. No doubt what they want is for dying people's torment, delirium and agony to reach a point where they call out for God in desperation.

When that happens they can tick off another "soul saved", another brownie point to facilitate their own admission to heaven. Mission accomplished.

I totally agree. Euthanasia is a human right. It should be in the hands of health professionals, not politicians. I can't believe we are still being dictated to by religious nuts who have a heavy arsenal of lies to manipulate the public with. The Belgians don't know how lucky they are.

I think this reflects our speed of progress. Cultural systems seem to hang around for centuries and in this day and age they are looking ever more irrational and crazy. Also note that, due to the long period of church control, a lot of old money is still "religious money" (in terms of lobbying).

It is perplexing but we live in unique and unusual times where it's possible for advocates of the morality of different time periods to clash.

She is obsessed with denigrating Americans any way she can. In reality I think she loves us and wishes she could be here.

Yes. I'm sure that's the case. Whatever you say. You do realise that pretty much the whole planet hates you don't you?

Love and Hate are just opposite side of the same coin, so to do one is to do both. The whole planet really loves us and wants to be us, some of them just don't know it yet, like you. I love me, don't you?

Ridiculous. This is why people hate you--you are oblivious to the harm you do. You are all so busy puffing up your chests and swaggering around telling everyone how great you are that you end up with a cartoon character of yourselves at the helm and don't even notice how insane y'all look to the rest of us. Do you ever hear anyone else boasting about the country they live in? And there are plenty of countries with a lot more to feel proud about than the US does. You don't even care that you have fucked up the ME and caused a massive refugee crisis that is pushing everyone to the limit. And you have the nerve to vote in a President because he said he would get rid of all the muslims. What's to like about you?
Oh, and you use by far more oil than any other country and then vote in a bunch of global-warming deniers and religious freak-show of fundy misfits.

Then why does everyone want to come here? BTW I'm not a global warming denier, I just don't accept that it will be a disaster. And I don't want to get rid of all Muslims, just the ones trying to kill us. And I believe that China is now using more oil that we are. You really need to pull your head out of your ass, and stop looking at the world through your own shit.

I agree with you Doc. On balance I believe the US is the best country in the world. We've been around for over 200 years and lived through both Republican and Democratic Presidents and governments. The future looks good, the stock market reflects that with new highs. I can keep on going, but I'm sure you get the picture. There's nowhere else I'd rather be at at the moment.
