Please, BBC America censors "The Shining" on TV, and don't come up with your usual bullshit that it's not the BBC but its American affiliate, because if that were true, it would mark the BBC as the biggest whore on planet Earth!

If we are going to judge the difference on what happened 50 years ago. I think you are on a loser.bobevenson wrote:In 1965, "Satisfaction" was a hit, giving the Rolling Stones their first number one in the US. In the UK, the song initially was played only on pirate radio stations because its lyrics were considered too sexually suggestive. -Wikipedia
Vietnam; political assassinations; race riots; police shooting students; ....
Meanwhile thousands of teenagers in the USA were burning copies of Beatles' records and the KKK issued them death threats..
On an historical note.
I doubt the story is true. Or if true, banned for a very short time. I remember hearing the song played on TV on "Ready Steady Go!" and on "Five, Four, Three, Two, One".
And asked my Nanna what "Satisfaction" meant.
I remember rolling around on the pouffe, pretending to get no satisfaction from it, singing whilst I was doing it. I was five.

No you are wrong as always.bobevenson wrote:Ohhhhhh, did I hit a nerve?
fact is that no network is under any obligation to play any tune.
The fact that it was on TV from day one simply refers to the fact that there was more than just the BBC.
ITV played it continuously
CBS used to ban lots of stuff too.

The BBC America is run by Americans. The clue is in the title.bobevenson wrote:Please, BBC America censors "The Shining" on TV, and don't come up with your usual bullshit that it's not the BBC but its American affiliate, because if that were true, it would mark the BBC as the biggest whore on planet Earth!

At least we are allowed to say "cock" and "fuck" on TV; words banned by your own networks.bobevenson wrote:What juxtaposition, you limeys talking about famous Americans being interviewed by an obscure British interviewer!
Here's something no network on the US would touch.

Bob hasn't had a whore in ages, you can't climb into the back of a mobility scooter with a hooker.

Mostly just your threads.bobevenson wrote:Please, the mod has a bad British habit of deleting threads.
Please, stop embarrassing the rest of us Americans on this forum, Bob, and go find yourself another forum who gives a crap about your nonsense... ideally one for Delusional Nutjobs Ravished by Satan so that you'll fit right in and stay there, away from the broader public.

Rather an amusing comment as are most of Bob's ravings.bobevenson wrote:Please, the mod has a bad British habit of deleting threads.
I declare this Forum to be the least censored moderated forum on the planet.
Challenge it, if you like. Prove me wrong. Find yourself an American forum that has not already banned you Boob! Show us the Forums from the USA where the moderators are less free handed.
No- can't ???
