What I want to know is how do you get the helmet on over those horns, and if you do get it on, how would you get it off again?Harbal wrote:Who wants to be a philosopher? I've had enough of philosophy, I want to be a Viking. Stuff happens to Vikings that philosophers can only dream about. I'm swapping my thinking cap for a helmet with horns sticking out of it. Now where's my long boat, I'm bound for the far side of the Atlantic.Bill Wiltrack wrote:.

Does Bill Wiltrack pretend to be a philosopher?

That is something only a Viking knows and he is sworn to secrecy.thedoc wrote: What I want to know is how do you get the helmet on over those horns,
You can't get it off, that's why you need to be very sure about it before you put it on.and if you do get it on, how would you get it off again?

Harbal, have you been nipping at some intoxicating brew?Harbal wrote:Well, I'm going to need transport so, as long as it has a well padded seat, the penny farthing will do admirably.
I've heard a legend of a far off place similar to Stonehenge, only smaller, it's a sort of place of pilgrimage for the Vikings. It's said they were first lured there by the fabled Wood Wench, a bewitching nymph like creature of the forest. Apparently, she mesmerizes the Vikings with her hypnotic dance and then gets them to do her bidding, although some say she just gets them so drunk that they'll do anything she tells them to. My quest will be to penny farthing my way westward in search of those sacred stones and subdue that wench of the woods and make her dance to my tune. Normally, embarking on such a venture would lead to a sticky end but I will be carrying with me the wondrous Hat of Harbal which renders it's wearer irresistible. I still anticipate a sticky end but one of an altogether more desirable nature.

Now I know where dreadlocks came from, and that girl who accosted the white boy wearing dreadlocks, accusing him of cultural appropriation, was wrong. By her reasoning every African American who straightens their hair, is guilty of cultural appropriation of the white, and other cultures, who have straight hair.Harbal wrote:That is something only a Viking knows and he is sworn to secrecy.thedoc wrote: What I want to know is how do you get the helmet on over those horns,

I make my own very potent mead, made from the honey of my own very special bees. They only fly by moonlight and gather the nectar of only the rarest flowers. I've just drunk a large flagon of it, actually.Lacewing wrote: Harbal, have you been nipping at some intoxicating brew?

LOL! ..the exact same could be said about you! ..never heard you say anything philosphical!Philosophy Explorer wrote:He likes to use links, but that doesn't make him a philosopher. What, even though you've seen it's effect?Lacewing wrote: I want some!
Re: Does Bill Wiltrack pretend to be a philosopher?
I'd say the appeal is precisely because of its effect (as you so well demonstrate/describe). And from the sounds of it, no one could be left in their right mind to resist. Sometimes real and pretend philosophers just have to let loose!Harbal wrote:What, even though you've seen it's effect?Lacewing wrote: I want some!

You say that about everybody. And everybody correctly says that about you.HexHammer wrote:LOL! ..the exact same could be said about you! ..never heard you say anything philosphical!Philosophy Explorer wrote:He likes to use links, but that doesn't make him a philosopher. Have any of you showed any signs of being a genius? ..I have ..but none of you have.Philosophy Explorer wrote:You say that about everybody. What does genius have to do with philosophy? Let me add that referring to yourself as a genius carries no weight around here. Let's see signs of your philosophy. And posting that none of the articles from Philosophy Now carries no philosophical weight with you is boring because you offer no analysis, no explanation.HexHammer wrote:Have any of you showed any signs of being a genius? ..I have ..but none of you have.Philosophy Explorer wrote:You say that about everybody. Is this boast in reference to your manners, wardrobe, or personal hygiene?HexHammer wrote:Have any of you showed any signs of being a genius? ..I have ..but none of you have.

In following link I present brilliant philosophy, which neither of you can achive, as you can only parrot things, very stupid people will always try to shoot it down, why there's an old saying "it takes one to know one".Philosophy Explorer wrote:What does genius have to do with philosophy?
