So your subconscious decided to stick bums in the frame, you might want to look at that.
Might want to try to respond to the original post in a philosophical way...just sayin....
You mean this thread? Okay,
Bill Wiltrack wrote:.
I am part of the growing number of individuals that realizes that we never experience death.
Not really, a first year philosophy student could tell you that since death is the cessation of experience one cannot experience it, one can only experience dying.
We are consciousness.
I know you think this means something but for the life of me I cannot understand why you think it has any link to the previous thought? Maybe you meant 'We are conscious'.
In a very real sense we cannot not exist. ...
In a very real sense you could not have ever existed and will not exist after you die.
So, whether it is heaven, or hell, or purgatory that characterizes your life, that is your eternity.
Only for as long as you are alive.
I do not understand that we are eternal, for consciousness has not always existed in the cosmos. Consciousness is a quite recent event.

In another vein, we can see, in the replication of robots, we are not of the external world. ...
The rest is just a misunderstanding of how robots work.

We are not our thoughts, we are not our bodies, nor are we our emotions.

In short, we are not our functions.

Our perception is through our state of being.

We are consciousness.

Actually, this is rather a basic philosophical & religious tenant in my esoteric circles.

Bill can you write like the rest of us, taking up less space?

Anyways, there is thought, and there are things. We are our though ie. our consciousness. I agree. So what else are you trying to say?

(Bill is) not (his) functions

Well, Bill, that may be the case. I certainly won't argue with you about what 'you' are.

Me: a (marvelous) brain embedded in a (mediocre) body embedded in the (crappy) world...me: chemicals and electricity of particular and peculiar arrangement...consciousness/mind/self/'me' is what, among other things, that arrangement does.

The intellect is a function of a human being.

We are not our thoughts.

Many of us identify ourselves with our thoughts; our inner narration. But that is only because our intellectual function is the slowest function within us.

I am not saying that you do not identify your self with the thoughts that pass through you.

I will say that an esoteric philosopher; a REAL philosopher is able to make this basic distinction.

Again, YOU are NOT able to make this distinction...as it should be.

As philosophers (like yourself) spend way too much time tryin' to weigh sparrow farts and analyze ghost whispers, I'm pleased as punch to not be one.

'nuff said.

Is that a fact? Actually, Poor Bill, it is rather a basic tenet ( I assume that's what you mean) in philosophical circles; it is the essence of Descartes' 'I think, therefore I am'.

I said, esoteric.

...and I said you wouldn't understand. And you won't.

And that's the way it should be.

If others cannot understand another's philosophy, it's probably because it doesn't make sense, or you lack the ability to communicate properly.

Philosophy, REAL philosophy does make sense.

There is also an element of intuition. Intuition has to be developed. Might want to look into that.

Good luck to you.

Bill Wiltrack to someone wrote:I said you wouldn't understand. And you won't.
That sounds rather grandiose. Why do you say that, Bill? How do you know what others will and won't understand?
Bill Wiltrack to someone wrote: And that's the way it should be.
Why do you say this?

Do you think you are uniquely gifted and deserving to know some truth that others cannot?

How about if you answer these questions directly instead of arrogantly telling everyone MORE of "HOW IT IS" in your childishly attention-seeking double-spaced, enlarged type size?

Real philosophy is pure reason. And it has nothing to do with luck.
