Yes, agreed. Consciousness is what I was pointing to in my original post.
You seemed to want to extend an argument that robots cannot be self-conscious.
Think we have been in much agreement. I attempted to clarify your rather wordy post with a cleaner term - self-consciousness.

No doubt that robots are not self-conscious. However, self-consciousness is an important adjunct to consciousness. There is no human being who is self-conscious while at the same time not being able to have conscious experiences.

Yes agreed. Self-consciousness is something most humans are capable of achieving to some extent.
...wait a minute...so the baby is yours?

Okay. No. I was trying to talk to the other poster within the same post.
My fault for the confusion.
I am intrigued with BOTH conversations simultaneously.

Interesting drawing of a seaming two year old skipping rope. Is there a symbolic message that you are trying to get across by showing a figure in the shadows?
Is this in reference to the fellow active poster who just revealed his association with a two year old within this very thread?
What is the meaning and insistence that you post this particular drawing?
To the poster that stated their joy of having a two year old - CONGRATULATIONS! I am open and accepting of this great joy. Um, what if your wife finds out about this and is not so...let's say open & accepting of your new miracle?

You appear inordinately concerned with a two-year old?

I HAVE A MILLION QUESTIONS!
Don't know if we should start a separate thread, perhaps in the lounge? ...or if we can begin and stay right here?
Um, just for starters...little advice. You have a girlfriend? and a child with her. Your wife doesn't know. Don't know that much about relationships but this one...THIS one, doesn't seem like it is starting out too well.
...also, you NEVER mentioned getting someone pregnant. AND YOU HAVE BEEN POSTING HERE FOR YEARS!
Are you STILL driving the bus around London?
You have been a little evasive but HELL you MUST be north of 60?
How old are you?
Why would you have a child NOW?
Will you & your extended family consider moving to America & taking me up on my offer?
What do you see as your future?
What is a normal day for you like?

You brought the subject up. Thought it was on the table.
Then you seemed to encourage questioning...
Would you like to tackle any of the questions above?
...I kind-of think that it is important. It's real life.
It's Okay though if you would like to just let the questions sssslide...
