I'm in a constant state of amazement how many people face old age as if it is a period of despondency; ie. "a state of low spirits caused by loss of hope or courage". To the contrary, I find it to be a state of exuberance. To experience the sheer exhilaration of the life experience, far surpasses that uncertainty we have when we are younger. Now when I see those that are 'despondent' about their prospects for the future, I recognize that they are the same people that held low prospects for themselves earlier in life.

The failure to recognize we are born with all the inherent strengths to accomplish great things, exists only because of their failure to 'remove' the weaknesses they allowed to be dominant; by choice!

For example: if one really be there is a better life coming after death, then there should be no 'despondency', or fear, or insecurity, or ...

Getting old...is humbling.

It's a series of losses.

Of realizing one's vulnerability and the brevity of life for all of us...

There is no escape. No turning away.

The one common road that we are all walking upon.

Listen, to those nearest to me, my family, my friends, my co-workers.

Be aware, no matter what words I hear, the message is, "Accept the person I am. Listen to me.

Listen, to those far from me, the whisper of the hopelessness, the plea of the forgotten, the cry of the anguished.

Help me to be less afraid to trust the voice inside - in the deepest part of me.

Listen in busyness and in boredom, in certainty and doubt, in noise and in silence.

Observe the self.
The god inside of me.

Getting old is no problem, ageing is. I'm just starting the process of serious rottening, I have most probably lived more than half of my life. I can still run 10 km below 50 minutes and bench press 80 kg. But my minutes per kilometer-time is getting worse every year, my beard is growing gray, I have a hard time to keep my body weight, my sight is getting worse, I have more and more parts of my body functioning worse than before. The way my face look now probably do not attract the attention of any young beautiful woman.

OK, I do definitely not want to live forever. But I would love it if science could stop the ageing process, and that I would then suddenly die from a car accident outside a pub picking up women sometime in the 2400's. Or 3200's. There will always be women and pubs.

Let go...

Become philosophical.

Perhaps you will never cease to exist in some sort of eternity.

However, trying to pick-up women outside of a bar? - NOW you're talkin crazy.
