I only asked because I worked on a national newspaper a long time ago and I don't remember any 'quality department'. They check that journalists do their job properly? I thought the editor did that. No wonder newspapers are a load of crap now.

Funny you should say that. I don't bother with newpapers any more because they have become just like magazines and there's little worth reading in them now, and magazines are full of 'celebrities' I've never heard of and their weddings and babies. Yes, I'm probably getting old, but I'm sure there is a lot more wankism and narcissism than there ever used to be.

Yes, people will repeat the news to you whether you like it or not. I like it when people want to discuss the news, and I tell them I have no idea what they're talking about. It gets them all worked up, and allows me a giggle. So much better than me being as angry at the world as they are.

Oh yeh, you sound like a real prize. And if your quality was anything like your posts here, they must have had extraordinarily poor standards indeed. ANY dingdong off the street could have worked in their "quality" department. Clearly you want to think you were a huge asset... I'm guessing they thought you were just part of that word.
