Funny you should say that. I don't bother with newpapers any more because they have become just like magazines and there's little worth reading in them now, and magazines are full of 'celebrities' I've never heard of and their weddings and babies. Yes, I'm probably getting old, but I'm sure there is a lot more wankism and narcissism than there ever used to be.Dalek Prime wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/ ... lf-dobellivegetariantaxidermy wrote: I only asked because I worked on a national newspaper a long time ago and I don't remember any 'quality department'. They check that journalists do their job properly? I thought the editor did that. No wonder newspapers are a load of crap now.
Works for me. I can't change events anyway, so why should I get worked up over them?

Yes, definitely. Celebs and ads. But way back when, I found myself constantly angry over stupidity in the world, and realized I could be at peace if I just ignored it.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:Funny you should say that. I do that too, but somehow still seem to be aware of what goes on, even when I don't want to be.Dalek Prime wrote: Yes, definitely. Celebs and ads. But way back when, I found myself constantly angry over stupidity in the world, and realized I could be at peace if I just ignored it.

Yes, people will repeat the news to you whether you like it or not. I like it when people want to discuss the news, and I tell them I have no idea what they're talking about. It gets them all worked up, and allows me a giggle.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:I do that too, but somehow still seem to be aware of what goes on, even when I don't want to be.Dalek Prime wrote: Yes, definitely. Please point out my "poor standards", I believe you are just being butt hurt, because I provide the truth, and you can't handle it.Lacewing wrote:Oh yeh, you sound like a real prize. And if your quality was anything like your posts here, they must have had extraordinarily poor standards indeed. ANY dingdong off the street could have worked in their "quality" department. Clearly you want to think you were a huge asset... I'm guessing they thought you were just part of that word.
Re: miscarriage: Murder?
Sure the Editor does that too, but we have the ultimate responsibility, our say is the final say ..save the CEO's say ..hehe.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:I only asked because I worked on a national newspaper a long time ago and I don't remember any 'quality department'. Communication. What are "spepeation lines" and "butt hurt"?HexHammer wrote:Please point out my "poor standards", I believe you are just being butt hurt, because I provide the truth, and you can't handle it.
WHAT truth do you think you are providing that I can't handle?
I'm observing that you don't sound or act like a professional when you refer to your past work, and you sound even less masterful in your angry knee-jerk posts that you blurt out from time to time. Not really representative of someone who would work in a "quality department".

You actually want me to take this seriously?Lacewing wrote:Communication. What are "spepeation lines" and "butt hurt"?HexHammer wrote:Please point out my "poor standards", I believe you are just being butt hurt, because I provide the truth, and you can't handle it.

I actually don't care what you do. I was just responding to your request, which I didn't think you should need to ask in the first place if you have any kind of self-awareness.HexHammer wrote:You actually want me to take this seriously?
Re: miscarriage: Murder?
I do have lots of selfawareness, your points made to my answer was puerile and completely irrelevant, only what I could expect from a cozy chatter like youself.Lacewing wrote:I actually don't care what you do.
