miscarriage: Murder?
If you believe that there is an intelligent designer and you believe that abortion is taking of a life equivalent to murder, then if a woman suffers a miscarriage due to genetic conditions, did the intelligent designer commit murder?
Re: miscarriage: Murder?
No. When this hapens it is God/the Creator working in mysterious ways.sthitapragya wrote:If you believe that there is an intelligent designer and you believe that abortion is taking of a life equivalent to murder, then if a woman suffers a miscarriage due to genetic conditions, did the intelligent designer commit murder?

You bring up a good point my scantily-robed friend.Harbal wrote:When this hapens it is God/the Creator working in mysterious ways.
Why isn't all the other crazy-ass shit that happens considered to be God working in mysterious ways? Who gets to conveniently pick and choose WHICH things go in the category of mysterious ways?

I never said how scantily, or otherwise, I was robed, that is just the product of your wicked imagination.Lacewing wrote: You bring up a good point my scantily-robed friend.
My daughter lost her first baby, it was about a week before it was due, they induced her and delivered the baby in the normal way. It was a girl. Afterwards, they suggested she nurse the baby for a while, apparently it helps with the grieving process. It was the worse thing I've ever been through and I can't even imagine what it was like for my daughter and her husband. At one point I heard my son-in-law's mother say "she's beautiful, that's why he took her". I've never wanted to kill anyone as badly as I wanted to kill that stupid woman. Why isn't all the other crazy-ass shit that happens considered to be God working in mysterious ways? Yes. It's odd that kristians can be as insensitive and offensive as they please. It's always 'oh, they mean well'. Sure they do. I wonder how they would feel in the same situation if someone said to them, 'never mind. It will make wonderful fertilizer for the garden'.Harbal wrote: My daughter lost her first baby, it was about a week before it was due, they induced her and delivered the baby in the normal way. Really? That sounds INSANE.Harbal wrote:they suggested she nurse the baby for a while, apparently it helps with the grieving process.
How terrible for your daughter and all of you.
People say really stupid things when they're stressed and heartbroken. Hopefully that was her excuse. It's the ones who say stupid things the rest of the time that I wish God would use his mysterious ways on.Harbal wrote:At one point I heard my son-in-law's mother say "she's beautiful, that's why he took her". Re: miscarriage: Murder?
I know it sounds a bit grotesque but I think it probably was the right thing. Up until then I just felt desperately sorry for and worried about my daughter. When I actually saw her holding her dead daughter it was like being hit by a truck, in an instant it became our tragedy, rather than just hers. Despite how emotionally intense and difficult it was for all of us at the time, I think that in the long run it forced us to deal with it in a healthier way. It made us face the reality of the situation, which was awful, but, in hindsight, it feels right that we went through it. Particularly so for my daughter.Lacewing wrote:Really? Harbal, your explanation is eye-opening and inspiring. Thank you. So many new ways we can learn to see.
Re: miscarriage: Murder?
In order for an action to be murder, the victim has to be defined "alive" and concious, etc ..which a foster isn't in early stages. Nor are everything an action of god, only very few.
God isn't a slave that has to work all day and evry day for stupid humans.

If you don't think abortion is murder, then this question was not for you anyway.HexHammer wrote:In order for an action to be murder, the victim has to be defined "alive" and concious, etc ..which a foster isn't in early stages. Nor are everything an action of god, only very few.
