Reward pathway
I had a composing dream to live for. My belief in the afterlife is what inspired my composing and nothing else inspired my composing. But that reward pathway (inspiration) has been deleted since I no longer believe in the afterlife anymore. Therefore, I am no longer inspired to compose anymore and have given up on it. How long does it take for a new reward pathway to be created in my brain so that I can be inspired to compose again?

Epicureanism emphasizes good food, good wine, good sex, good job, good work, and leaving the Earth a cleaner and better place than you found it.MozartLink wrote:I had a composing dream to live for. Machiavellianism emphasizes power. Nietzsche agreed with him.
Modern Empiricism emphasizes meaning.
Take your pick.

Re: Reward pathway
As I said many times before, it is only my good moods that inspire my composing. I am not inspired any other way. It is only when I am in an inspired mood that I am inspired to compose.yiostheoy wrote:Epicureanism emphasizes good food, good wine, good sex, good job, good work, and leaving the Earth a cleaner and better place than you found it.MozartLink wrote:I had a composing dream to live for. Don't quit your day job, - If you aren't compelled to compose no matter what, you probably will not do well with it.MozartLink wrote: As I said many times before, it is only my good moods that inspire my composing. Re: Reward pathway
I don't really see the connection between composing and belief in the afterlife. What did you compose?
Re: Reward pathway
Probably works that can only be appreciated in the afterlife.Harbal wrote:I don't really see the connection between composing and belief in the afterlife. What did you compose?

Oh, for crying out loud ML. Forget what I said about the afterlife. What do I know about it anyways? Go dream and compose.MozartLink wrote:I had a composing dream to live for.
