This makes no sense for me. God IS. Existence takes place within God. Existence has meaning and purpose governing the processes which comprise existence.

Existence, or specifically consciousness, takes place in my head, not in any god. And it has no meaning, save what I want to give it.

Are you so sure? s\Some would say the source of your consciousness isn't in the head but rather in the brains located in lower parts of your body slightly above the legs both front and back. The meanings you give it are of course appropriate for the placement.

Quite certain, thanks. More certain than you, who takes his cues from some dead woman who romanticized life and philosophy, and never thinks for himself. Or at least has proven not to thus far. (And that's giving benefit of the doubt.)

That may all be true. We don't know however.

As close as Philosophy comes to God-ness is the 4 classic proofs of God. But even they leave God-ness a mystery other than for their attempt to substitute one paradox for another.

As far as God-ness goes you simply need to choose between one of two paradoxes -- either we are our own Gods or else there is another God superior to us who did all the work starting around 15 billion years ago in the Universe. We know it had to be about 15 billion years based on the data sent back by the Hubble Space Telescope.

The only thing you have stopped short of doing is to give God (the Philosophy concept of God) a purpose.

We don't know what that is either. We don't even know what God is.

God-ness in Philosophy only substitutes one paradox for another.

I tend to agree with you, on the existence of some kind of God. This is philosophical speculation based on paradox. With or without God there is still going to be some kind of inherent paradox in Philosophy about First Cause.

I think you are probably correct that God simply is. However it would not surprise me if God has also taken on a purpose for Himself/Herself/Itself/Themselves as well.

A paradoxical question would then follow whether God started out tabula rasa as well?

In other words, does God also evolve?

One paradox says no. Another suggests yes.

So Spinoza's 'God' then?
Existence has meaning and purpose governing the processes which comprise existence.
Why do you assume this and why do you assume that if it has its got anything to do with us?

@ Nick_A

I am not my own God. I am my own consciousness. And it is the closest to truth that I can come. 'We' don't have to know this. I do. You have nothing to do with my consciousness, except through my perception of your posts. But just because I don't call myself god, doesn't lead to there being another. It's not a if-else scenario.

Dalek you ae your own god and as such only you and others with a similar belief are entitled to utter god's last name with complete justification. God's full name for you is God Dammit.
