I cannot comprehend the scale of the Earth. I know there is 12,000kms of planet beneath my feet but the scale of our "pale blue dot" is such that my head can't get around it. We know more about our local space than the inside of the planet, having drilled no more than 11kms (before the drill started to melt). Down in the core the Earth is hotter than the surface of the Sun.

I look around and everything I can see is too small to be visible even from the ISS. Even our "little" Moon is huge - and entire world in itself - so large in the sky despite being 400,000 kms away. There we are on this massive body slowly falling into the Sun, which is slowly falling into Sagittarius A*, as the galaxy hurtles through space at 2 million kph.

I like to never forget our cosmic reality for perspective's sake, to remember how little human culture is, no matter how magnified it becomes in our minds.

Regular hospital visits have included same- old, same-old form-filling questions.
Some never hesitate at the religious question. At least now, instead of a 'what religion are you?', they ask 'do you have a religion?'

The gorilla being of a branch of primate that is gentle and caring, was looking after the child and protecting it from harm. Sadly the child was from a branch of primates who are moronic fucking wanky, trigger happy cunts, that like nothing better than to slaughter kind, and loving primates.
