Jean-Dominique Bauby & The Hell We Exist In

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Me thinks thou doth protest too much!

On a more serious note, as you mature, which I am confident you will, YOUR field of perception will change.

As human beings, we mature by leaps & bounds when we are confronted with pain, anguish, and depression.

Stay lose. Give it time...one day you may see...

But you don't know me. So where do you come off trying to define me with your limited understanding?

Well that was a mistake! I decided to click on your image and what do I see, a mother and child getting run over with the mother seriously hurt and possibly dead and the child discovering this. You are truly a sick fuck using such images for your gnuing. That you talk of maturity is laughable, you are a pampered and spoilt child.

Members such as yourself should not view my threads.

I've stated this before.

I'm not meant for the masses.

Most people here, such as yourself are pampered. And should continue to be treated that way. You will never fully develop.

You will never be able to see life as it is. And you don't want to see it. And that is the way it should be.

It's people like yourself that have kept my best posts from existing here upon this forum.

PLEASE stop viewing my posts.

Thanks to the function found in the user-control panel that allows one to turn-off images I have the choice to do so. This useful function stops such as you from inflicting your tawdry subconscious upon me without asking.
I've stated this before.

I'm not meant for the masses.
 And yet you post in a mass medium, the Gnu doth protest too much.
Most people here, such as yourself are pampered. And should continue to be treated that way. You will never fully develop.
Into what, you? A fucked-up drug-taking narcissistic miserablist.
You will never be able to see life as it is. And you don't want to see it. And that is the way it should be.
Is it? And yet I also see the happiness, joy and laughter that life provides. Something the internet is full of but strangely enough something you never see.
It's people like yourself that have kept my best posts from existing here upon this forum.
 If you say so yourself.
PLEASE stop viewing my posts.
No, as they are by-and-large an offense to Philosophy.
Christ was crucified..
And the odds are you'd have been in the crowd enjoying the show for your own tawdry needs.

Look. There's a lot of pain in life. A lot of violence. A lot of suffering and seemingly a lot of unnecessary cruelty & brutality. These aspects are in nature and aspect that are displayed & solidified in human beings.

We cannot escape these aspects of ourselves. We are, for the most part, Satan's spawn.

We are full of greed, selfishness and hate.

I have stated many times before here at the forum; We are stupid. We are mean. We are selfish...and we lie.

We are despicable creatures. You looking away from that or putting a spin upon that - DOES NOT HELP OR CHANGE THE FACT, or The Hell We Exist In.

For sure, there's also a lot of pleasure, enjoyment and unnecessary laughter.
These aspects are in nature and aspect that are displayed & solidified in human beings.
As are the other aspects.
We cannot escape these aspects of ourselves. We are, for the most part, Satan's spawn.
Return to your 'God' Bill, you need 'it'.
We are full of greed, selfishness and hate.
We're also full of love and generosity. I agree with Rand that your 'selfishness' is the product of your religious upbringing.

Do you seriously think your wallowing and publicity of these aspects you describe will have any effect upon them or will you be contributing to the desensitization to them?
I have stated many times before here at the forum; We are stupid. We are mean. We are selfish...and we lie.
And I have pointed out that we are also the opposite.
We are despicable creatures. You looking away from that or putting a spin upon that - DOES NOT HELP OR CHANGE THE FACT, or The Hell We Exist In..
You exist in no 'hell' Bill, you exist in one of the most comfortable and pampered societies the world has seen. You yourself have benefited greatly as I presume you are retired youngish with a full pension, a state of paradise unheard of for most of our existence. That you choose to spend it proclaiming misery and pain is just immature existential angst. It's not 'spin' Bill or if it is it's just the same spin you are spouting and saying it in caps makes it no more of a truer fact.

Life is big. Much bigger than we can comprehend.

As it stands you are looking upon the bright side of things. Nothing wrong with that.

I am reflecting, within the scope of this thread, more of a recognition of the negative aspects of ones existence.

Neither of us are totally right nor totally wrong.

Think the larger difference is that you attempt to attack me & my character.

I don't do that. We are members here. Fellow philosophical gazers.

I don't perceive this forum as a battleground between individuals rather I experience this forum as an artistic expression of competent perspectives.

...That's just me. Again, you or I are not absolutely right nor absolutely wrong.

And you'd know this how then?
As it stands you are looking upon the bright side of things. Nothing wrong with that.
Nope, cheerful pessimist me but find your miserablist pessimism a self-fulfilling prophecy and an incorrect description of things.
I am reflecting, within the scope of this thread, more of a recognition of the negative aspects of ones existence.
It's all you ever do as due to your loss of faith you're floundering.
Neither of us are totally right nor totally wrong.
I think you totally wrong in using images of others pain and suffering for your tawdry needs, especially since you've not asked permission nor thought at all that maybe the persons concerned would not like their situation to be used in such a way.
Think the larger difference is that you attempt to attack me & my character.
Don't forget the endless points I make about the logical errors in your thoughts that you steadfastly refuse to consider, says much about your philosophical character.
I don't do that. We are members here. Fellow philosophical gazers.
If so then the least I'd expect is some consideration of others critique but nada from you.
I don't perceive this forum as a battleground between individuals rather I experience this forum as an artistic expression of competent perspectives.
Neither do I, I consider it a Philosophy forum where if one's perspective is correctly critiqued one should change one's perspective to account for it, again nada from you in this respect.
...That's just me. Again, you or I are not absolutely right nor absolutely wrong.
About what?
We all work together as a team here to help each other to drink the delicious nectar of the gods - wisdom!
You show absolutely no sign of ever listening to others critique and only ever acknowledge supporting posts, as such wisdom is not what you seek as you are a gnu who thinks you are the font of such stuff.

Always considered you a friend and an aspiring mentee.

Now you are elevating me to god-like status.

I'm growing comfortable with that.

Believe me, I am human...All too human.

I appreciate the accolades by you specifically
and, in general, I appreciate the entire PhilosophyNow Forum community holding me in such high regard. This means a lot to me and as I have stated in the past, the nobility that I enjoy here does not go unnoticed.

Thank you! - Now BACK TO PHILOSOPHY!

The feature to turn off the display of your images, Bill, is actually what kept me from leaving this site. It's astounding that you don't show more respect for shared space and the type of energy you put into it.

Despite the generous and common feedback you receive from others who share this space -- regarding the skewed way you seem compelled to focus and to project things onto others -- it appears that you are too self-consumed to make good use of such feedback. Perhaps it's a self-protective/validating mechanism for you -- to ignore, rather than learn from, dissent.

But wouldn't you agree that it's wise to avoid condensing everything/everyone else down to the level that you see at any given moment? Keeping the doors open for what is beyond the limits, impressions, fears, and rage of your own mind? Isn't there always so much more to realize? Why do you choose to lock it down where you do?

Of course, as it suits your delusional narcissism.

Only in your imagination as by and large the entire PhilosophyNow Forum has you on ignore.
Thank you! - Now BACK TO PHILOSOPHY!
Which as usual you'll no doubt ignore.
