You use both moral sentimens and moral principles in moral situations. If you start with one, you continue with the other. Not something that will shake the earth but a good suggestion for a moral strategy anyhow imho.

The two examples used by the article have no right answers.

1) Should the discrepant access to education between "third world' children and "first world" children be redressed?
2) What should I do; tell or not tell my boss if I want to attend an interview for another job.

The article suggests you need to seek an "equilibrium" between Kant's deontological honesty, and Hume's gut reaction as an emotional agent.
