None, with the exceptions of caffeine and nicotine. If the mind is polluted, chances are the philosophy and reasoning behind it also will be. Philosophy is not some flight of fancy, but reasoning from a solid foundation.

Mushroom. Never have they let me down, unless eating too many. Then it's not really philosophy anymore, it's encroachment and even though God is a funny looking thing, Its humor is a bit lacking when catching you rummage through the toy box. Vodka too, something about vodka helps me pay closer attention/understand what I'm reading, but the opposite of mushroom. Have to drink a lot of vodka.

I'm pretty open to opiates, hallucinogens, and stimulants.

Not too big on alcohol though I find myself consuming waaaay too often...


* I've also enjoyed one or two types of designer drugs used as pre-workout that have created a mind-altering state for a short periods of time.

I don't use anything. I find my mind has a tendency to go into various altered states of it's own accord.

No drug enhances or gives reliable and persistent reflections on Philosophy that do not disappear with mature reflection.

Aside from that. The most interesting and remarkable drug i've taken is probably MDMA.

Not legal so much as not illegal.
I heard that the drug was invented in Germany around 100 years ago and considered for use to give German soldiers in WW1.

All drugs start as not illegal, until someone noticed that people start enjoying themselves, then they clamp down.

Wouldn't risk eating the shrooms in your piccy, looks like fly agaric, so toadstool, iffy stuff to play with. Stick to the magic shrooms.

Why? Over here half the 'fun' is coming - up in a green cow field upon a hillside in autumn.

Having said this tho' I do not recommend tripping to anyone with weak grasp on reality or those who aren't comfortable within themselves as they are going to be themselves in a very different place for a while and it can be a scary place. They are not called trips for nothing and once you get on you won't be getting off for a few hours and bad trips are called that for a reason. One bit of advice, if it starts to get bad just change the scenery, that is, just go away from whatever it is that's bringing on the bad. Might or might not work but does most of the time. Me I was the merry prankster type rather than Timothy but Leary times have their place

I don't grow them, in east TX they're everywhere. We have 3 main species of psi, but only 2 have enough to get you off. 2 grow in cow poop, and 1 grows in moss. The ones in moss I've never found, which makes me a little sad because it's supposed to knock you silly, but 1 of the poop species is overabundant, and it happens to be a great.

I've found them in the morning, afternoon and evenings, plus there are literally fields in every direction just outside the city limits. 4 big caps (wet), and you'll have a really interesting time. Eat 1.5 big or 2-3 smaller ones, and you won't hallucinate hardly at all. It's really good for putting things into perspective without having to question if what's happening is just in your head.
