Well not really. This little hoax of mine is to get a discussion going on what the world would be like if we didn't have to concern ourselves with nuclear weapons i.e. what would be the differences?

Nuclear radiation no more!

We would be worried more about the real threats of bio wars. Chemical war generally hits a limited area, with animal/human movement bio war is potentially unlimited

I completely agree. The threat of biological warfare is far scarier than the threat of a nuclear Armageddon ever was. Any well-organised and well-funded gang of lunatics could potentially wipe out a substantial proportion of the world's population inside a week. Furthermore this is a scenario which will become steadily easier to engineer as time goes on.kriswest wrote:We would be worried more about the real threats of bio wars. On the upside,, most do not have access to labs. Ok yea , not a real upside but, I truly do not want to think about morons playing with things in an insecure environment.

It's true that currently access to the technology and knowledge needed to make viable bio-weapons is not readily available. However we live in an information age where that which is conceivable is achievable and all it would take to bring such a nightmare scenario about is the right measure of determination and will on the part of some psychopath to make it so. The world is not short of such psychopaths and it seems to be breeding more of them day by day so we have good reason to be fearful of this, as indeed all national security agencies are. Anybody with ready access to large sums of cash can do whatever they fucking well like and the world is awash with large sums of untraceable cash. The secret police forces of the world have got a tough job ahead of them and our days of personal privacy are OVER.kriswest wrote:On the upside,, most do not have access to labs.
