The American Energy Party (AEP)

Post by bobevenson »

Is it time for Americans
To cut through the haze
Of a dreary national government
Gloomier than the weather?
Can one State among our fifty
Rekindle the spirit that set us free?
Will we salute a bold new flag,
A great white star on a field of red?
Or will the yellow star of Vietnam
Confuse us on a cloudy day.

The AEP flag has an abstract white star in the upper left quadrant of the flag, with shards of light streaming from the star points to the flag border.

The AEP logo is a circle with three circular segments inside, to the left, right and at the bottom, similar to a composite of the Mercedes Benz logo and the Eiffel Tower, sometimes with a baby gorilla sitting on the bottom circle and holding on to the left and right circles (transposing AEP to APE). This logo will be found at the pointed end of the shirt collar of AEP members.

Now, isn't this a political party you want to join, regardless of what it stands for? I mean, what other party has its own flag and logo, much less one with such striking visual appearance?

The Nazi party did.

Can you discern the difference between branding and ideology?

No, the Nazi party doesn't count, it only had the swastika, not a distinct flag and logo, and it wasn't even original, dating back to prehistoric times.

Pretty cool though, right? And don't forget, the AEP stands for proper government, not seen since the beginning of time.

Only for the blind, which bit of 'tat' didn't you understand.

There is no AEP bobby, other than in your bedroom fantasies.

The only "tat" that I'm familiar with is "tit for tat," and I think the first part of that phrase is something you should try to get a little more of, my friend!

Tat, used to refer to the kind of junk sold by crafty Cockneys to unsuspecting tourists in central London.
I guess you and your British friends are entitled to the exclusive use of the word "tat" since Americans don't sell junk to unsuspecting tourists.

I think you'll find they do, Reverend Bob; they have even found ways to export it globally as McDonald's and Budweiser.

McDonald's and Budweiser dominate their market, and I guess that proves you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Well, someone has to sell more bland, unadventurous produce than anyone else, but unless you can tell me that you have sampled frog leg bolognese with sauerkraut, washed down with a fine glass of poteen, I really can't take your gastronomic credentials seriously.

It's clear that the vast majority of the public thinks you can stick your elitist credentials up your you-know-what.
