The "only one who understands this" is a statement. Cannot really argue on that.
It's your opinion. And a wrong opinion actually.
As I have seen, there are people who actually share my opinion on the matter under discussion.

But interesting how you tried to base your answer on the fact that "characterizing" is bad.
Seems that my arguments did hit a string after all.
