Sorry, I'm only interested in the AEP and Ouzo, and on those two subjects, there's nothing to discuss.

Could you have possibly have found anything LESS noble to do with your abilities?SpheresOfBalance wrote:Bob, I'm a so called American, because I was born here, though my sir name is in fact English. I have all this US government paperwork, and cards that say I was honorably discharged, and was recommended for both retention and advancement. I was formally practically begged to stay and continually work on, in and around, multi-million dollar aircraft, as I had for 16 years, by our departments technical representative, a lieutenant in the US naval reserves. Why? Because I take things seriously. My final evals stated that I showed meticulous attention to detail. If they wanted a job done right, they gave it to me. In the end, my forth job, I repaired those machines that were used to test our machines. I was also a nuclear weapons loading team member. Why all this, supposed, braggadocios-ness? As a testament to my being more of a, so called, American than you are. Or so their trust in me surely seems to indicate. What have you done for her? But in truth, today, I'm not really an American, yet I am. In fact I'm a human of the earth, I support none, yet all nationalities, this is because I'm a student of philosophy. It dictates that I am as I am, else I'm not a very good student.
When I see such commentary, about, "My self's better than your self, my self's better than yours," I usually just laugh at the fools, because it is indeed a fools game! Philosophically speaking, of course. And you continually seem to be it's biggest player, boy!
Very often with your words, you dig a hole of silliness, then when so easily attacked for it, you spout even sillier silliness, as if it'll somehow save you, of course my viewpoint is illuminated by the contrast afforded by philosophy. It's about understanding humans and their current condition, that you are so easily framed, as what you are not. You are certainly neither a philosopher nor a prophet, as you exemplify neither, with your speech! You seem like an unruly boy, that says things just so he can get attention, even if it's bad attention, a testament to your childhood?
I'm afraid you don't know what a real American is. Yes there are a few of us still left! A real American holds her to the highest standards.

Greatest is just a matter of opinion. But I do believe more people want to migrate into this country than out of it.

Re: Why the USA isn't the greatest nation on Earth
Veggie it would seem you sometimes try your hardest to insult people concerning things that are a matter of history, in this case where I was just 17 years old, and I say 'just 17,' because just one month prior to my starting with the DOD I was 16 years old, such that largely the situation in question, that you have nothing nice to say about, has more to do with ones learning curve. Should we really hold one accountable for things they did as a, dare I say, child, as certainly in this country at least, one is not considered an adult until they're 18 years old. They can't even vote, buy liquor, or sign contracts, but they can die for their country, go figure? Of course once I was riding the wave, in order to survive by putting food on the table, and having shelter, it was easy and convenient to continue saying I do, until such time that I felt it was getting very old indeed. Hey, if it makes you feel any better, to this very day, I sometimes have nightmares, yes NIGHTMARES, that I'm still doing that job, because for a portion of the time I did the job, mine was very dangerous indeed.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:Could you have possibly have found anything LESS noble to do with your abilities?SpheresOfBalance wrote:Bob, I'm a so called American, because I was born here, though my sir name is in fact English. I'm afraid you don't know what a real American is. Yes there are a few of us still left! A real American holds her to the highest standards.
But make no mistake, my particular job was patrol. It only concerned itself with the defense of the USA, and our allies. And we found a great many offensive soviet submarines that carried ICBM's with nuclear warheads just off our coastlines. So do you really think that's not OK? How would you like Soviet submarines hiding underwater just off your countries coastlines, carrying ICBM's with nuclear warheads? Wouldn't you like someone like me out there to ensure they didn't pop up and launch one at your city/town? That was my squadrons mission, defense against a nuclear attack. If that's not OK then you're nuts, and deserve to be blown to hell, and back, by an ICBM with a nuclear warhead! If you want to understand my squadrons mission either read or watch Tom Clancy's, "The Hunt for Red October." As then you'll understand my job. The movie even shows one of our aircraft in the distance, that I flew on, as for a time I was an aircrewman. I have 2000 flight hours on the Lockheed P3C Orion Update II searching for nuclear threats to not only our country, but our allies as well. Is your's an ally? If so then I was protecting you as well. So shoot me already, because I was bad boy for protecting people with my life!
Veggie I shall hold you accountable for all the mistakes you've ever made in your entire life, and never let you live them down, because I'm a bastard that way???? Really???? REALLY????
Life is a constant lesson my dear, if one pays attention that is! And some of us actually change and grow as time goes by. Are we really what we used to be, or are we something different with our accumulated knowledge? What do you honestly think?
But if you really want to, fire away, if it makes you feel much better, as that's something the US Military Industrial Complex would certainly do. So you're in good company??? No????

Well, 'defence' is a very loaded word, especially in the paranoid hell-hole that is the US of A. 'Defence' from what? All those countries attacking and invading you? Give me a break. You are only proving my point about yanks. Even when they come across as gentle and fairly reasonable, as you do, scratch just beneath the surface and you find a paranoid, warmongering, gun-loving, flag-worshipping nut-job. All that 'reds under the beds' garbage was just that--garbage invented by the arms industry and fed to a gullible and poorly-educated public.SpheresOfBalance wrote: Veggie it would seem you sometimes try your hardest to insult people concerning things that are a matter of history, in this case where I was just 17 years old, and I say 'just 17,' because just one month prior to my starting with the DOD I was 16 years old, such that largely the situation in question, that you have nothing nice to say about, has more to do with ones learning curve. So you totally missed the 'fact' that we found countless soviet subs during the cold war, that were carrying ICBM's with nuclear warheads, just off our and our allies coastlines? It's you that proves that one can lead a fool to knowledge, but one can't make them think! I truly feel sorry for you, hold up in your bunker, due to the imagined threats swirling in your mind. Yet I've never been in a war, so I don't know what you're talking about. Do you?
and I don't see you being over-run with 'commie bastards'.
It's largely because I'm surrounded by Americans, that I've not been overrun by commie bastards, as you call them.
Keep deluding yourself,
About what?
and proving me right.
About what?
