I stand just above the tree line
upon a rocky shoulder
on the mountain of MAN
High above in the rarefied air
where no root can grow
lie the snow slopes pure
and white like an angel’s wing
There I will climb in the years to come
to the lonely summits towering above
the last leg of a private Haj
that is the business of no man
except my God and me
Far below me lies the view
and the endless reviews
All the Ages of endeavor
all the debts owed and favors done
the pilgrimages made and graces received
Before I attempt the Way ahead
before my Mecca is reached
and my Khabba kissed
the view must be shared from the heights achieved
This I owe to Man
and to our ancestors
who struggled so long ere I was born
Far from where I stand
I can see Man-made monuments
in a line of logical progression
The pinnacles
of the great Minds of our Times
peaking up here and there
above the forest of ordinary lives
How high they seemed in earlier climbs
And when conquered
only to reveal farther heights
reaching ever upwards into the clouds beyond
In the landscape above the tree line
where the air is heady
with spent ambitions
and grace-filled thoughts
the view of the versatile man
is more eclectic than that of the specialist
and more relevant
Every perspective is subjective
every one is value worth
there is no separation
between the viewer
and the object reviewed
All that really counts in any atomic collusion
is the experience that is shared
and its imprint on the consciousness
of the chain reaction

Nice to meet you. This is a great crew here at PN, I hope you'll think so too.

Greetings to you too.bus2bogotá wrote:Nice to meet you. This is a great crew here at PN, I hope you'll think so too.
I am not sure there are many left with open minds
too much childhood analytical indoctrination
in stuffy classrooms has
alas
throttled pure thought
unrestricted by empirical dogma
Perhaps here I can look forward
to some interesting eclectic conversations
But I warn all
I am on the attack
to win back lost ground
I am a metaphysician
As my avatar indicates
I am here to cross horns
and duel with any physicists
who may have trespassed
unwittingly
on my profession

You should encounter no trouble from the likes of me, as physicists may sometimes tresspass into the territory of metaphysicists. You should worry more about doctors.MagnetMan wrote: I am a metaphysician
