Life is given to us, but at every step in life, we have a choice available to us. What to think? What to do? How to live? Let’s take the instance of a wave. The wave has a choice. The wave has a choice to think that it’s the wave or to think that it’s the ocean. Both are right. As you see a wave dancing in the ocean, it has the privilege to consider itself a mere wave, but is it not a part of the mighty ocean? Where does the wave come from? Where does the wave go? The wave comes and goes from the ocean, therefore, it is the ocean itself, but it’s up to the wave to decide and choose; to believe whether it is the wave or the ocean. We too have a choice to believe that we are this self, this body, this composition of mind, intellect, body, heart, soul or to realize the ultimate truth - to understand that we are nothing but a part of the universal consciousness, a part of the divine creator. Unfortunately, we often make the choice to think that we are just the body, we are the ego, we are the identity that we see in the mirror in front of us, when in reality, we are not that which we see in the mirror; we are not the name that appears on our passport; we are not the identity that appears on our visiting card or identity card. What are we? We are a part of God. We are a manifestation of God, but alas, we choose to think we are something very small, something else. Remember the choice is ours to consider, whether we believe we are the waves or the ocean, this small little self or a part of this divine creation.

Unreasoned romanticism. Back it up, or you're just another purveyor of spirituality on a philosophy forum.
And let me set the record straight. Existence is foisted on us, and from the first years, we are moulded into what our parents and society want us to be. Then, with pressure of adulthood fighting against our desires, we fight to become what we want to be (or at least think we want to be). Then we die. But before we die, we put our own children through the exact same shit, because that's just what we blindly do.

The moment you accept divine creation you loose the warrant and the power to think for yourself.AiR wrote:Life is given to us, but at every step in life, we have a choice available to us. ...Remember the choice is ours to consider, whether we believe we are the waves or the ocean, this small little self or a part of this divine creation.
