No idea, that's why I asked you as a goggle had average rainfall as a third to half the year in Ontario. That and that Canadian friends appeared to live under heavy winters.

Last page, I was agreeing with you - except I said it first. At that point, I couldn't see the point I might have been missing. Unless you meant "somebody" other than me was missing some point other than yours.

LA's water issue is not related to a "all over" drought. The "point" was that LA is a desert with millions of people stealing water from 100s of miles away.

LA is one city currently having a draught - as is the whole west coast, much of it on fire. LA happens to be in the desert, like El Salvador and Cairo. All major cities, whether they're in deserts or not, steal, buy and borrow water from elsewhere - as do gold mines, facking operations, cattle ranches, golf courses and rich bankers.
Global problem, and getting worse fast.
I haven't missed the point; I merely elaborated on it.

In each case it is a "LOCAL" problem, not a global one. The danger is that LA will try to pretend a global problem and wash its hands of its own responsibility. There is not a global drought, but a series of localised abuses of water use.
