Should love be THE basis of marriage?

I believe that's the number one issue with respect to marriage. It seems many people are narrow minded in what they think constitutes a good marriage. What type of love? Planned parenthood. Marrying into your kind (e.g. high society to high society, but then many people draw a line at gay marriage). Mixed marriage, etc.

I think simply that marriage is a personal choice, not to be influenced by others.
