In terms of websites, do you find some more appealing than others simply due to their aesthetics?

Well for a start I hate the design of that link you posted as whilst I like minimalist design most of all I love sites with no adverts, hence I love the PN forum for its ease upon the eye.

The site you linked was far from minimalist. I found it intensely annoying with all those auto-drop downs.
There is an increasing trend in unnecessary web design with the advent of greater bandwidth. But the worst of it, is the explosion of more and more advertising which is most unwelcome.
This is the worst type of site I've seen so far.

Miles and miles of crap leading to more and more crap.
Is this what the greatest human invention of the 20hC actually for?

I let others design it, as long as they pay me to code it. I often simplify it when speed is a concern. Keep it simple.

I hate how almost everyone uses colors that are too saturated. That's not what minimalism is. Minimalism has "washed out" colors and simple sans-serif fonts, sometimes 8-bit. It shouldn't have anything shiny and round corners but sharp instead. Good example of minimalism

I don't care what name they give it, as long as it's clear, logically organized, has the information I want where I can find it quickly - and doesn't hurt my eyes. The worst are red or black background with illuminated text and moving pictures.
