What is the next stage of our evolution?

How does science work? And what's all this about quantum mechanics?

Is it bigger heads? Mankind being wiped out? Robotics?

What do you think?

I think we've stopped evolving in any natural sense and the next stage will depend upon what we require or desire and will be designed in by us.

So I guess you think it's robotics. It's hard to keep up with all the advances in this area. Science fiction is becoming reality.

Look forward to catastrophe especially when you consider those in charge not being better than those in charge right now.

I am surprised ugly people and people with bad personalities haven't diminished. Amazing how ugly people just keep reproducing as fast or faster than beautiful people.

Population growth tapers off dramatically once countries industrialize and modernize. This means that third world countries are growing exponentially. So it seems that - as with the ugly people thing - the opposite of what you might think is true: being part of an advanced, educated society does not promote growth of the species.

I suppose when global warming becomes really bad, black skin may provide an advantage, but who knows?

Most likely, the only event that would cause some real change in the human race, favoring one group over another, would be a catastrophic event like nuclear war or a meteor, or extreme global warming where most of the world is flooded. Then who survives will just depend on chance - right place at the right time.

The 'Bits' ? I should be terribly offended, especially as there are only two kinds of people on the planet: 'Brits' and 'us'.
