You either did not read all my arguments in this thread (and the others expressing contempt for ALL religions) or you are deliberately misrepresenting my convictions.

I specifically stated in the OP that my decision was NOT based on religion.

The thread title was about and INDIVIDUAL choice that I do not want to force on anyone else.

I can hope that the human species evolves further to take full advantage of its science and technology and reduce the dependence on cannibalizing living creatures, but it has nothing to do with religion.

I have a personal opinion here, an opinion that is shared by millions around the globe.

So don't go on a crusade against vegetarians -- they are not a threat to you. :)

I'm not saying that you did. I AM saying that you have made a religion of vegetarianism.
You are taking on Faith a view that is contrary to reason.

There you go again, with this dogmatic and misguided approach. The very existence of those animals you say incorrectly are treated with cruelty depends on them being used by humans.
And "cannibalizing" is just hysterical abuse of language.

F'ing hell. Exactly like a said - you are making a religion of it.

Duh! I've met many. Twp of my life partners have been veggies. Most of them have a far more rational understanding of why they are doing it.

I think I am completely rational and, being a scientist, I know a few things about what is rational and what isn't.

Your choice of words such as 'dogmatic', hysterical', bourgeois pathetic museli, youghurt fantasy luxury, "Disney Generation", utter BULLSHIT,... is suggesting a less than rational approach to the subject.

It reeks of a highly emotional attitude.

However, you are entitled to your opinion.

It's called humour.
I use humour in this case as your position is risible. What is very amusing is your claim to be a "scientist" as if that qualifies you in rational thinking - it does not.

Another 'rational' response!

Humour indeed!

I am done with you HC -- I am sorry, but you are not 'cool' enough for my taste.

Don't bother to answer, I won't see it -- I won't waste any more of my time on 'irrational' dialogues.

Into my ignore list with you!

It's an ideological stance, which is just like a religion. Ideologies have no rational basis, resting on misapprehensions or distortions of truth. We cannot 'evolve' by some act of will to become what we are not (herbivores). We need meat in our diet. Period. You used the word 'evolve' incorrectly, as well as 'cannibalize'. Learn what those words actually mean, you fuckfaced fool.

You're not some morally superior being, but a moron.

I think the only person not ignored is himself, and I'm not sure about that.
