Help Me Out On This One...

Post by Bill Wiltrack »

Help me wrap my mind around this;

Trillions of dollars spent to kill each other. That's OK, but two people LOVE each other and the world has a problem, a BIG problem, with that.

Where the fuck do we exist?

Is this actually hell?

To be, or not to be, that is the question—
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing, end them? To die, to sleep—
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end
The Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Flesh is heir to? 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep,
To sleep, perchance to Dream; Aye, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes Calamity of so long life:
For who would bear the Whips and Scorns of time,
The Oppressor's wrong, the proud man's Contumely,
The pangs of despised Love, the Law’s delay,
The insolence of Office, and the Spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his Quietus make
With a bare Bodkin? Who would these Fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered Country, from whose bourn
No Traveler returns, Puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have,
Than fly to others that we know not of.
Thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all,
And thus the Native hue of Resolution
Is sicklied o'er, with the pale cast of Thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment,
With this regard their Currents turn awry,
And lose the name of Action. Soft you now,
The fair Ophelia. Nymph, in all thy Orisons
Be thou all my sins remembered.[4]

My take is that there are 3 logical options:

1) Suicide
2) Mother Theresa/Jesus option - devotion to selfless help to the most helpless
3) Plod along and see what happens

Option 3 appeals to the lazy and selfish alike, which pretty much covers 99.9999999999999 percent of humans.

Well it seems to be OK.

The US spends Trillions alone each year in war and in related preparation of war & killing.

Add to that, over 150 different countries spending billions upon billions throughout the world each year in killing & in preperation of killing.

...so there.

But an expression of LOVE through the institution of marriage - WHOA!!! Wait a minute! THAT'S HORRIBLE!

If you'll forgive me being British for a moment, you guys over the pond have a lot of problems, maybe Im out of line on this one but as far as I can tell every problem you have comes from the start of your country and the foundation of your government.

Hear me out.

I know a lot of people that originally went to the "new world" were protestants. And those guys were and are strict arse mothers. You were still under a very protestant religious ideal when your government was formed. From what I've seen of protestants they have this feeling that they need to rid the world of anything "evil" lest they live in sin by proxy for allowing it to live.

This is easily seen in Britain at the time by them having to remove every stained glass window. Them having to root out and execute all those who followed the "heathen gods" and destroy any related knowledge. So on so forth.

While time and the world and governments have moved on america has been slow to adopt these changes within themselves and the government. Hell every president and senator invoke god (protestant god) still. And a lot of your culture still empheses being god fearing especially in the southern states.

Teaching creationism in schools as fact, gay rights, persecution of pagans, racism.

Until you guys and your government loosen up on the protestant ideals of rejecting anything the church doesn't particularly say is good then these problems will continue. IMHO.

To be or not to be is not a question. We are doomed to hell, punished for no crime of our own. Like Jesus we suffer for the crimes of others. Like Jesus we pay for their sins. There is no justice, and we never asked to be born. We are forced to born, suicide wont work because we'll just be "born again". This is hell, eternal existence, what is our crime we commited no crime and there's no way out.
