Why so much Bible repetition?

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

Except that most of the bible is not messages, they're stories. Of course, all prophets and reformers harangue their listeners about similar sins (the things people keep doing over and over) and warning them of dire punishments (which also don't change much over time and religions). But most of it is the self-promotion of old kings and heroes, their marriages and their wars. I'm not familiar with the text of the Torah, but it's only supposed to be the same as the first five biblical books. I don't know where-all they got the rest.

And many of the stories express messages. Like fairy tales or myths do.

The story of Adam and Eve expresses a message for sure.

A story often is an elaborate metaphore of something abstract.

The distinction between "fact" and "truth" is an important one when reading ancient literature (and some modern lit, too).
