RE- introduction

Post by marjoram_blues »

Just to say 'I'm back...

...again...'

After mulling it over, I decided to re-subscribe to the PN magazine. Rick and team do a great job and deserve all support 8)

From artisticsolution, in another thread, elsewhere in the galaxy:

<<I hope all is well. Missed you>>

Hi AS, all is well enough...and hell is probably just around the corner
Missed you too, and the PN forum - I don't stay away for too long. Thanks for the welcome back.

It's all in the timing, innit? I received a reminder from Rick about re-subscribing and the current issue appealed to me. Also, I had been thinking about the importance, or otherwise, of philosophy or critical thinking world-wide.
The need to continually reinforce what might be termed 'civilised' values when barbaric ones seem to be on the rise. When schoolgirls are tempted, or 'groomed' to leave home and marry ISIS fundamentalists.

Where are the counter-measures to prevent any brain-washing? If it is that..
Way back, I remember raging hormones and the wish for a Teenage Escape from parental home...then, the big deal was to dash off to an Israeli kibbutz ( nothing like being a Protestant !).
Way back, there was no internet...

Times, they are a changing. Still, some things stay the same.

Ah to be young again, huh? :)

I remember all the romance bouncing around in my head. Dreams of adventure and being so damn irresistible I could make anyone in the world change their evil ways! After all, when the princess is happy the kingdom sings...right? lol

Years later I remember watching an interview with Tammy Faye Baker. In it they showed a clip of her before fame and un-fortune. She told the story of when she was a girl she would pray, "Dear Lord, Please don't make my life boring." God must have loved her much to grant her desires...lol. Whew!

I don't know what a kibbutz is...but I do know I am very attracted to the Jewish look and demeanor...at least what I know of it in the US. Everyone thinks I am crazy, but when they walk to temple in my neighborhood in their black hats and coats with the strings hanging down....just as adorable as all get out! But I digress...lol...what is it we were talking about?

P.S. I got cabin fever so my girlfriend is having pity on me and taking me to her beautiful cabin in the Utah mountains for a couple of days. There is no cell phone reception up there so if I don't respond you will know why.

I will just have to look forward to reading all your conversations in the PN forum until I get back!
