A 'good philosophy', for me, would be one that is most thought through and developed in a highly mature manner, and also one that keeps growing in depth, due in part by the Philosopher's continuing endeavor for Truth. A 'bad philosophy', or a more suitable term, an immature philosophy, would be dogmatic and not look at other angles of what this reality is; whether it be Rationalism vs. Empiricism, objective realism vs. objective (or subjective) idealism, Analytic vs. Continental.

Just look at youself, one such as you continually ask silly questions that has little philosophical value.
Ask questions that has a purpose and value.

You're too late, you fool. Look at all the other posts ahead of yours. You are driven by an inferiority complex that seeks to build you up and tear down others. You continuously make stupid posts that contribute nothing to this forum. You are not a genius, just a windbag.

In your opinion.

All philosophy is good.

If it contains bad thinking, it is not philosophy: it is religion or 'religious studies".

Thomism and Marxism, respectively.
Thomism is not philosophy in any sense. It is an attempt to validate a fantasy.
Marxism is an economic theory.

It all comes down to this: good philosophy: materialism; bad philosophy: idealism.

And marxism is not an economic theory.

What do you think, PhilX?

Philosophy as a process of thought can be good, if open. Exploring options and weighing up what makes best sense. Bad, if thoughts not allowed to venture forth. Strangled at birth by self or other censorship.

Philosophy as a product of the thinking process can be good, if it remains open to challenges from other perspectives. Bad, if it turns to stone and is dogmatic, inflexible and snarls at questions.

Thomism is not a philosophy? Hobbes, you just do not know what thomism actually is. You should come back to study history of philosophy.

Thomism is based largely on Aristotle.

Aristotle talks about God and gods in his works, too.

As philosophy approaches truth it becomes religious. Religion then is sound philosophy, while biased jargon is bad philosophy, and most wandering falls somewhere in between.

Good philosophy is anything that promotes vigor, strength, and power. Bad philosophy is that which shackles mankind with dogma, conscience, loss of power. Anyone can argue anything in philosophy so much one cannot differentiate the good from the bad. What matters if it promotes vitality.

Which is what you just did. They say you can't please everybody and you're parroting HH (or maybe not as it looks like he's turning over a new leaf).

Why not give examples of what you consider to be useful?
