The truth is that this is a misrepresentation of what many Christians understand to be the case concerning how God creates and then works in that creation. It's very easy to pick apart the weakest presentation of a particular belief system and/or straw men (the latter being what Bill has presented here), but the question is whether one can pick apart the strongest? It my experience, it seems that those who tend to have a "beef" with Christianity typically have it with poor articulations of the faith.
