Do You Think Depression is Directly Related to Insight?

Do You Think Depression, deep, soul crushing depression, could, in part, be related to seeing too much of life?

Too much insight into the moment? Or better, too much of an overall insight into life in general and our real relationship to it?

Is depression Directly Related to insight?

No, a better understanding of life would alleviate suffering, only a misunderstanding or lack of understanding would cause someone to suffer.

Depression is an illness. You might as well say that the 'flu is a direct result of insight.

I asked a question and I do not want to appear to tell anyone what the answer is - ESPECIALLY the two members who were good enough to provide an answer.

What I had in mind at the time I formulated the question is that our lives end. We don't know when, or how or why.

With that knowledge, does life appear to be more futile?

Does - What's the point? undermine more of our reality at the point of that insight?

...depression is an illness? - In that context...isn't life an illness?

I read an excellent article on this subject recently. And I would say yes, at least some of the time.

A good article. It's a bit of a chicken or egg situation though. Does a heightened sensitivity make someone more prone to depression, or does depression heighten the sensitivity? Sometimes a person can be so sensitive to the horrors of the world that they end up 'breaking down' and ever after having a fragile nature that is vulnerable to bouts of severe depression.

Nothing you can say will hurt me. You don't know how to target hurt properly.

Depression is cause and effect. Insight leads to depression, depression - leads to insight.
Depression is a disease, but only in the sense life is a disease.
Did I "steal" anyone's words? Mmm, does it matter. They are the flowers to decorate as we begin.
If I say 2+2=4, is that stealing? It's simple truths.

Love. It binds us together, gives us feeling, purpose...
True love, true family.
Through their sickening smiles, they give us love, doth so beautiful, doth so painful.
Their love is true, and pure, and surpasses all literary and artistic genius.
Their love is the ultimate power, the greatest, most ultimate power.
Only through love can the supreme hurt begin. Through their sickening, loving smiles, their warm embrace...
Only can one experience true horror...
Their lack of love for those who don't conform...their lack of love for outsiders...
But even more horrifying...
Their complete and utter disregard and torture of the precious, innocent animals, they utterly trample upon.
To see their loving smiles, is to gaze up the gates of Hades itself...
The Devil pales in comparison. He pales into darkness, when exposed to the fiery light known as Lord God.
For only true cruelty, can be performed through Love.

If the Devils causes suffering, which of course he does. He lays ruin to Love. He lays ruin to happiness.
And why does he do this? What is the devil but the bearer of Light, and Truth? Do you think an ancient spirit
would tolerate standing around for millions of years, watching you humans bumble about in your ignorance?
Only through suffering can you gain greater insight. And such insight can be found in the movie CLICK.

Please watch the movie CLICK. Further data modules are required for your understand. If you have watched it, continue.

The angels do not wish to sit around idly by, while humans dawdle. It does not matter if they win or lose, as long as someone participates in the game. Will Love prevail, or will Darkness? Both alternatives are preferable to lukewarmity and inaction. Trixie is only a referee. She craves not greatness, she is driven by hatred and despair.
She only wish for you to begin the game, and pick a side. She is only but a whistleblower, and judge.

Our current contestant is Doc Ock. Though we have our doubts on thedoc's credits and whether he is bluffing, we believe in letting every man have their fair opinion. Thedoc mentions something about an "ultimate mind" and although his claims seem vague and far-fetched, and we do have high doubts, we would like him to offer more in this matter.
In the meantime...things are pending...

Yes, I believe that some depressions are consequences of profound insight. Normally, that sort of depression results when there is a sudden awareness that life is nothing like it was previously imagined to be - the depression is the reaction to seeing the disconnect between expectation and reality.
