First you must figure out how to educate someone who doesn't want to be educated, figure that out and let us know.

What were the imperatives that already existed that were imposed upon you so that you were able to see the values of education?

None, My dad did poorly in school, mom did well, I went to college so that they could say "our son is a college graduate". I recognized that many of my teachers and professors didn't understand all they thought they knew. Education has value only if what it teaches is true, and there is the main failing of education today.

In addition to your parents' influence there were many other factors and realities in place; the place and time you were born, your direct community, your county and the economic position that they were in, how education was looked at by your community, even IF an education could do you any good.

In general, people are not violent if they have something they perceive as worthwhile...something to loose. People who are educated tend to be less violent.

People who perceive themselves to have a large degree of self determination usually do not rebel.
