I am a perfectly pleasant chap in real life.
This is the way I see myself experiencing each day:
......................................................

.

You should look into your mirror, as this last bit, as well as the rest, also applies to you. "Your need to put others down" so as to feel superior, not necessarily with opposing arguments, rather name calling, labeling, demeaning characterizations, an attempt to pigeon hole, with a single word or phrase, as if any one constituent of the plethora that are included in all people, though different and in different quantities, is capable of summing them up in any real meaningful way, much like a child would do, that is actually beneath you, as well as the rest of us. Yet you persist, as if it's respectable, adult like, or necessarily productive for anyone. You tarnish those with such credentials, and a supposed graduate of NLP processing to boot. Come on Arising, I'm actually rooting for you! Wanting to see you actually rise to those high ranks, you believe yourself belonging to. So your more effectual, respectable.Arising_uk wrote:As usual the white knight charges in on his steed in defence of those who are more than able to defend themselves.SpheresOfBalance wrote:Lets face it Bill, Arising shall never love you for who you are, as He/She or It, has for you, only, that which they believe you should be, their projection of themselves, upon others, as if that's the only way one can be, so as to have any merit, their version, of course, what else is there, in that mind?
You are one of Arising's projects, like it or not!
Nothing to do with 'love' and I take Bill exactly upon his projections of himself as evidenced by what he writes upon this forum. I have no doubt that in real-life Bill is a perfectly pleasant chap and I'd guess I'd have more in common with him than you as when working we are both staunch union members.
No idea why you have this need that you do but would suspect it to do with many unresolved issues in your past.

I do look in my mirror and I know what I see, so I do not put others down to feel superior but because experience of conversing with them leads me to this approach as they make clear that they have no intention of engaging in philosophical discourse or with any critique of their thoughts, as such I find it an offence upon a philosophy forum and think them aptly named by a single word. You forget that Philosophy is a few thousand years old and as such it has examined and discussed innumerable ideas and because there are so many variations it has categorised many of them and so many of the thoughts of those who have not studied philosophy, whilst original to them, are not unique and can be summed-up in a word, that 'people' don't like this is tough to my mind, don't post in a philosophy forum then. I do not pigeon-hole, I judge by what people say upon here, if they don't like what they project then change as until then I'll respond as I get.SpheresOfBalance wrote:You should look into your mirror, as this last bit, as well as the rest, also applies to you. I'm productive when others engage with critique, when they don't and attempt psycho-babble and other ploys then I know they are not here to philosophise about their thoughts but to play the gnu or use the place as a shrinks couch.Yet you persist, as if it's respectable, adult like, or necessarily productive for anyone. ...
No I don't. Philosophy seminars and bar conversations with philosophers are much worse than this. But at least in a seminar we can insult with critique thats addressed. Many here and one in particular have no intention of thinking about their thoughts but are just here to emote their existential angst or play the gnu. NLP has no dippy-hippy view of how a self should behave other than that it should be a behaviour that is congruent with all the aspects of oneself. You tarnish those with such credentials, and a supposed graduate of NLP processing to boot. ...
Sweet! But like I've told Wiltrack I have no interest in others opinions of my psyche nor need of their support. Critique my thoughts and engage in the critique of yours is all I ask from a discussion on a philosophy now forum, this does not mean having to abandon them, could do tho', but amending them in the light of cogent points, i.e. when a blatant contradiction is pointed out. As Philosophy Now is by-an'-large the art of critique through reason and logic which often entails first clarifying what is being said, then examining the axioms to look for errors and then talking them through. A process many appear to dislike?Come on Arising, I'm actually rooting for you! Wanting to see you actually rise to those high ranks, you believe yourself belonging to. And yet according to you all words are lies so here you are lying again.Bill Wiltrack wrote:
Well stated. And this needed to be said.
I guess my statement above is the neutral aspect of this trilogy.
Your statement is a negative or restricting statement. Perhaps viewed as the necessary counter to a seemingly run-away, unrestrained, positively aggressive and possibly corrosive attitude by another member here at the boards.
Neutral, negative, & positive locked in a never ending dance of carbon.

Spoken like the truly therapised. Like many who have not completed their therapy you mistake your condition as universal. Me, I prefer Philosophy to Psychoanalysis but if I was to experience the latter then I prefer one with results.SpheresOfBalance wrote: blah,

And so your hardheadedness in denial is expected, some may never grow, never understand their human condition, the differences between us.
No idea who this is? I think you projecting, you should bring it up with your next shrink and whilst you're there mention to her your casual sexism and possible misogyny, most likely a your mother issue but then again could just be cultural as quite a few of the american males who have passed this way show such a tendency, Bill's a good example.Right, Kimberly?

The woman of talk-fest, or in other words, the endless denial, of oh so many words of contradiction, so as not to have to face themselves. I would be proud to be a woman, Kimberly! No kimberly, for the slight of mind, that's me getting tired of your fear and avoidance.

To deny yourself and your name, what is that anyway? You fearing your shadow?
Since we, unlike some species, don't have a neuter sex you've effectively pointed out an exception to your proposition. Congratulations.Bill Wiltrack wrote:Male, Female, Neutral[/size].

Truth and reality. Try it someday.what is that anyway? ...
Nope, just you projecting. You fearing your shadow?
And here we have it, the sexist chauvinistic patriarch writ large. You shout this name as you think you have some hook into me from whatever cobbled together psycho-babble view you hold but in reality it just exposes your issues with women, I told you it was a your mother issue. Are you proud to be a man? Speaking as a man I find no point in being proud of an accident of birth and think that such statements as 'I would be proud to be a woman' patronising bullshit as your characterisation of the female is the typical one of woman as breeder and ignores that it takes two to tango. Like the boob you wish me to be female so that you can place me in a safe little box in your head, laughable given you yak on about pigeon-holing so much. The woman of talk-fest, or in other words, the endless denial, of oh so many words of contradiction, so as not to have to face themselves.
