A skidmark of a town but a GREAT experience.

Bill, I live as far left as one can go in Texas that is called a city, in the High Chihuahuan desert in the safest city per capita in the country. Life is slow, life is relatively quiet and life just keeps going on...

Rubbish, they are all three subjective.

Life is birth, death and taxes.

I drove through Brownsville one night, onto Neravo Larado.

Wow. Was THAT an eye opener.

What is life like for you?

I don't think life is very much different for me living here than it would be for others living in their hometowns/cities/

I eat, I sleep, I am on the 'puter more than necessary, i have bowel functions, I'm retired from the work-a-day world... really a rather contented life. What makes our lives uniquely our own is our general environment, the geographical area and the weather conditions... things we cannot prevent. Most midsize to large cities all have the same old shit - McD's, Burger K, Walmarts, Targets, Mega Cinemas, Huge Chinese Buffets and of course the same old hotel/motel names that are just as ubiquitous as fast foods. Our town (city) truly loves our Mexican food which is not like other places for some beautiful reason... and other than Taco Hell, it's locally owned.

TMI? Yeah, hell, I have a hard time keeping my fingers from ol' qwerty taking the squeeze outta my brain.

O! and I'm getting older every fucking day and feeling pretty damn good about it.

I completely relate to you.

LOVE margaritas
and the Mexican food that comes with them...almost too much. If that's possible.

Margarita and I had a good thing going for awhile but I knew I had to get into more intimate.
I chucked the mix and the lime and went straight to her soul - pure 100% tequila squeezed out of the heart of the blue agave. My life changed. I was dealing with the real fucking thing and I loved it. And it was especially delightful with some rolled herb...yeah! hell yeah!

Add to that my rolled cigarettes, a pouch of Bugler, and my health began suffering and I suffered with it. One day I lied to myself when I had chest pains... it must be something I ate. I believed that. Well, we know what happened, eh?

The day arrived after having a great Mexican lunch at my neighborhood restaurant with a friend of mine. Here we go again... chest pains... don't say anything but my friend asks what's wrong. He takes me to the emergency room of our local general hospital. I was told to jump the line... go the front, do not pass go... right now, short cut, now fucker!

Time goes by after day until I get 2 stents in an artery next to my pump. Change your ways or die. Change my ways or die? SHIT!! No more partying? no more abusing myself..? no more smoking... anything? SHIT! times became very, very serious... decisions had to be made.

360 degree change. everything pertaining to the heart's health I consumed. Still do 7+ years later. Why not? I've got a great woman, a fine partner, a wonderful friend, a masterful lover... and I have 2 sons, one that is a special needs fellow that we all love. Dropping that other life is chump change compared to what I have.. tangible, you know?

No more than two beers *or* glasses of wine a day *with* a meal. no more smoking.. anything. no more straight shot of tequila or bourbon or rum... nada, pal, or I fucking bow out. I'm not ready, hombre. I surrendered and I'm cool with it... life looks good when the veil of illusion is lifted. I fucking like it even after over 7 years... I've been restored and good for another 10 maybe 20 years if luck stands with me.

TMI, again??? Shit, m.t.mynd ... you got the talking dis-ease. I'm not at ease unless I talking. ;)

Later Will Wiltrack!

[ pssst! you ever hear the name, Mark Kuhar of Deep Cleveland?]

I've heard of Mark Kuhar now.

I like your prose...actually better than anything of Kuhar.

Yeah know, no one here, at the greatest philosophy site on the planet...the greatest philosophy forum that ever was...no one here has the guts to expose themselves and write a little bit about themselves and put a little swagger and creativity in their writings, like you just did.

I applaud you.

It's difficult to be humble when someone is applauding you, isn't it?

I've been writing a long while, Bill, and do so on some other sites. It keeps me out of trouble for the most part. I've run into a couple of meatheads here that challenged my patience... do you remember the name "Satyr"..? I spent an in ordinate amount of time challenging his twisted philosophies (if that's what they should be called..??).

I take time off from here when I don't get hooked by an interesting conversation. Returning to check things out. I generally like this place but get a bit bored when there's repetition of subject matter (different people bringing up old shit).

Later, Willie Willtrack... keep yourself amused as only you know how. ;)

Jesus god you are awesome!

Feel free to break-off a piece or two and throw them in the lounge.

I'd love to read more of your work.

Toodles...

Nothing to do with happiness nor contentment but to do with philosophy, thought and reason.

I'm not here to change you, or for that matter, anyone else here at the forum.
Fair enough.
I see, philosophically, a trinity in everything.
Not surprised as deep religious programming is hard to shake off.

Although in reality you see whatever happens to grab your feelings at the time whilst you trawl the weeb, as in the past you've been all one element, ego, nothing at all, others voices, etc and irony of ironies for a while you were the duality of 'left' and 'right' brains.
If you are set in duality I'm fine with that..
You talk to yourself when talking to others as where did I say I'm set in any such thing?

Lets face it Bill, Arising shall never love you for who you are, as He/She or It, has for you, only, that which they believe you should be, their projection of themselves, upon others, as if that's the only way one can be, so as to have any merit, their version, of course, what else is there, in that mind?

You are one of Arising's projects, like it or not! ;)

As usual the white knight charges in on his steed in defence of those who are more than able to defend themselves.

Nothing to do with 'love' and I take Bill exactly upon his projections of himself as evidenced by what he writes upon this forum. I have no doubt that in real-life Bill is a perfectly pleasant chap and I'd guess I'd have more in common with him than you as when working we are both staunch union members.

No idea why you have this need that you do but would suspect it to do with many unresolved issues in your past.
