Rehabilitating the Ad Hominem Argument

Post by Philosophy Now »

Should Bertrand Russell’s ‘skirt chasing’ be taken into account when thinking about his moral theories? Stephen Anderson argues that it might, in this reply to Tim Madigan’s criticism of ad hominem arguments.

Well you can point that out as being an example of hypocrisy, but it still wouldn't disprove his moral theories (whatever they may be - I didn't rally look into much of Russell's philosophy) per se. But then, it is nonetheless good to question their integrity since they are human beings like us commoners - obviously.
