does god know my phone number?

God knows everything.because god is involved in everything.god involved the bigbang to create the universe and is involved in every single part of it.but dosnt move.

I just finished reading raimond Gaita's 'good and evil: an absolute conception'

it covers a lot of ground and large chunks of it i had trouble understanding

but one of the questions raises is whether or not god, being omniscient, knows his phone number

in his views this question is nonsensical when talking about god

god is not the sort of being of whom it makes sense to ask this question

what are your thoughts on this?

The answer depends upon your definition of God. If you believe in an omniscient God, then he knows your phone number, your IQ, your peculiar sexual predilections, and how many times you farted silently in church and then glanced over to someone sitting next to you with a frown on your face. In that case, the relevant question is not if God knows your number, but rather, "Does God care about your phone number, etc.?"

If your definition of God is sufficiently thoughtful to consider her, him, or it as capable of innovative thought and therefore limited in intelligence, then of course the answer is, no. Why would sheit want your number?

I have to say I agree with his points, in this case, when he's not on his high horse, he does make sense.

I think if God values anything it is life and living, and how you become who you are, and how hence you are better or worse. I think he could care less if you are x y or z, I think a loving God would just care about your progress through life and your trials and happenstance of your particulars, and not the means or the ends.

At least you would hope so, because being arbitrarily concerned with the sort of stupid things humans are seems a little inapt for a perfect being. And you know what I mean, love of your God we must presume is not arbitrary, based on where you begin, or indeed what you are, one would hope a perfect being would be better than that.

God or the Absolute as I prefer is infinite (omnipresent) - the Absolute is the phone the number and the person.
The Absolute does not do anything as it is everything, you cannot communicate with the Absolute as how can you step outside of infinity to communicate with infinity
