I saw an article on this subject just this morning. It was a video that stated that the "God particle", or Higgs boson could be responsible for the end of the Universe. Then it stated that if it happened, it would be in a few billion years. Can't wait to see it. Or for my grandchildren to see it. Or their grandchildren. Or maybe it would take a little longer?

Of course if we don't want to wait, it also stated that if we built a collider that was as big as, or bigger than, the Earth, we could make it happen now. I'll get right on that. (chuckle)

Who else thinks that these cosmetologist guys are just a little too excited about this?

It's about as stupid and sensational as it can get. It's one of the most pointless stories to be promoted by the media, and it's laughable that it's taken as fact.
