Never been a big fan of Slipknot, but this song I really liked, don't watch if you don't like hard rock, or metal. In fact don't watch if your idea of good music is easy listening, elevator music, in fact don't watch if that's your bag. You know what I mean, nothing wrong with elevator music of course, the girl from Ipanimi is a fine track but you are forewarned. There's no wrong music to like, it's not a competition, we like what we like, but suffice to say you wont like this. Spoilered, if you click on it now and hate it, nothing I can do. :) ;)

Lipsnot.

Industrial Metal.

Speaking of Which Rammstein.

And yes you wont like this either ok.

It's very German and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, approach with fear.

Love this band with a passion you can only imagine, just superb, but it's not for everyone, even Germans. :S ;)

With that in mind you might, might not, each to their own like this. It blew me away. :)

I love the way they are tipping winks to each other, yeah you are just that good, I'd give my right an left arm to have that much talent. Wouldn't be able to play guitar, but hell... wow. I think what would really annoy anyone who was competent at guitar, is the fact, they never rehearsed, they never needed to, they got off a plane cold and did that. They just did it like that, they just could, that would kill me if I was even remotely good at guitar, that much talent is amazing. It's nice to see, but it's humbling, utter gifted virtuousos, doing it without a set up without ever meeting each other, and just that good.

At the end as well it's just toying isn't it, it's just amazing and they are all saying in the language of instrument, thank you for playing with me. People like that are not normal, that's incredible. if you listen to that and think they are just normal, you are missing something. :P
Amazing, indeed. You know that Paco died unexpectedly this year, that was such a loss for music. One of the pieces that made him famous:

Guitars are my thing. I own myself a classical acoustic guitar and also a V-style Dean electric. I'm barely competent, but I know what you mean when too much talent stops being inspirational and begins getting you frustrated. It happens whenever I try to play something from Yngwie...at the same speed, it's just impossible.

It's always sad when a great artist dies, I didn't know he was dead. Funny how a movie star dies and the world knows, but someone with more talent in their little finger dies and much fewer do. We have our priorities wrong, it's sad if anyone you like to think of as a muse, dies, but I think we place too much emphasis on football stars etc and too little on other things. A Nobel prize winner is an artist, whether he wins it in literature or Science or economics, he has invented something wonderful, nobody ever thought of before, and it turns out it just might be true.

It's like anything you do, some people are just in another league, best to just draw inspiration, and aim for it as a model. Only shooting stars break the mold.

Oddly this is the only song I could think up which could sum up my sentiment, all the others were too self indulgent, this was just inspirational without being pretentious.

We're all mystery men in our own way. Captain Amazing can kiss my ass. :)

The above three sentences and the link will make a whole lot more sense, if you have ever seen the film Mystery Men, suffice to say google it, or watch it. It's a good film.

I love acapella that was pretty good but most beautiful not mine. Love the fact it is sung in a foreign language, if anything although you don't understand it you pay a lot more attention to context to try and pick up what it means. I have no idea, but from context, I'd say it was a love song, and about someone who was somehow lost and then found, probably a million miles away.

Always this one for me:

A theme song from a game called Civ.

If you can guess what it means without googling it and assuming you don't already know, I would be surprised (there is just too little information) but I'll give you a clue I am an atheist which would probably be ironic, although if you speak Swahili please you are not even trying, more clues in the video. :)

Loved the Guitarist Blaggard and Conde! My youngest plays the guitar...I am going to let him have a listen. It was awesome!

I don't know much about Civ. Not much of a game player...my kids probably know about it. I did like the song! I don't know Swahili but when my kids were younger I wanted to introduce other languages so one of the books in their kiddie library was "Jambo Means Hello". They didn't like it much. They were more into Asian culture.

The video reminds me of the movie Elysium a little.

It's an original work Civ than paid to use.

It's called Baba Yetu, lit Our Father in Swahili.

It's actually the Lords prayer from Matthew in The Bible in Swahili. Hence the irony of being an agnostic atheist, you don't have to believe in a divine saviour or what a song says to get what it means to feel that spirit move you. If everyone felt the same way about religion, theirs or others or not, who knows...

Elysium was a good film and it's not far from it, it's the first time religion was introduced into the Civ genre, I am sure you can see the parallels between that and a game about actual civilisation.

Your kids a guitarist, he's a shooting star then. :)

Yeah a friend introduced it to me a few years ago, and I had flirted with guitar as a kid so I knew how hard it is to play really well, let alone passably well, and then I saw that and I just saw what some people can do, they probably picked up the chords in days, had prefect pitch appreciation, learnt chords that their fingers couldn't reach at 6 years of age, by improvisation. Some people just have it.

They have found a way to present dislike of life and the system while reaping monetary rewards from that which they are against, supposedly.

Yeah kind of like Rage Against the machine lite. It's a hypocrisy I think but a forgivable one.
