This is an awesome thread. And like most awesome threads here it receives little or no response.

LOVE the first video you used. It clarifies some aspects of good deeds and why we may choose to do them. I LIKE the way you used the simplicity of imagery, with very few words, to make clear a rather, at times, difficult, connotative subject.

Your second video - WOW! I LOVE JEREMY RIFKIN.

I have literally watched Empathetic Civilization AT LEAST 50 times and I STILL enjoy watching it AND I learn something new or I am able to see something in a way I have not seen before.

THANK YOU for posting both of these videos.

Kudos.

...oh, and your link for the Rifkin video didn't work for me. I used this one.

Thank you, Bill.

I have since repaired that link in the o.p. to the Rifkin interview on CSPAN's Book TV show.

Your link to the YouTube presentation is very good too ! Thanks for calling my attention to it.

It is nice to know that you appreciate the chance to see these recent videos. Glad to be of service!!!

I too regard them as awesome.

The first one, an insurance company commercial, is more eloquent than my essay BASIC ETHICS. The essay, though, applies to a wider scope of ethical applications and concerns. And it is written for the philosophical mind, written for those who like to see a logical argument, for those who 'dig' systems.

Here is a link to BASIC ETHICS followed by some detailed description of what is in it. Check out all posts in the thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12179
