What a nice thing to do. I love crickets and the noise they make. I'm afraid I do kill flies and ants and that's all. I don't like to, but if I don't kill ants they take over the house. I'm an expert fly-swatter. At leat I make it a quick death.reasonvemotion wrote:Hammock wrote:

When I visit the pet store, to buy for my various dogs, cats, birds, fish, I buy the crickets, that will ultimately be used for food for reptiles and such.
I take them home and release them into my garden. You should see them fly into the brush. Let me outta here!
Sounds weird, I know, but in summertime, I am rewarded by their chirping.
When I worked with the Buddhist Monks, I noticed they would walk carefully around the ants on the pavement.
You wouldn't hurt a fly, but would you help one?

Well that's the last time I use metaphor to explore an ethical view.
I kill flies all the time though, the buggers are annoying, perhaps though what is important is if they go to heaven, I mean if they lived a good fly life and weren't too greedy about kicking other flies arses who were on their shit, so they could lay eggs, I mean it's not like they could go to church I suppose but maybe there are fly good guys, and fly arseholes, and one has to hope I only swat the arseholes.

lol. I knew you would get annoyed by the literal comments. Sorry. I thought your OP was pretty good actually.Blaggard wrote:Well that's the last time I use metaphor to explore an ethical view.

Way it goes, wax on about the bug problem, I Can no more rule peoples minds, than like King Canute I can sit near the seas and command the tides not to roll in.vegetariantaxidermy wrote:lol. Tbh I think most of my ops are horrible, but that's kinda the point, if you post something perfect in the op, well it is going to be unanswered, I do hence go out of my way to post "horrible" OPs, not stupid or ridiculous OPs, or troll ops, just bad OPs- bad enough...
