thedoc wrote:I prefer the old movies and don't usually see a movie till it's out on DVD, used to be VHS. So I'm never up on the latest movies. I also like the music from the movies, I like the main theme from Schindler's List but I know the story so I will probably not watch the movie. I did watch the clip about "The Girl in the Red Coat" and probably will not watch it again. There is a song I liked from a movie "The days of Wine and Roses", it seemed to be a really sweet song full of happy times, then I watched the Movie. If you like the song, don't watch the movie, it puts a completely different slant on the song. On the other hand "Casablanca" put a good feeling on the song "As Time Goes By", so that would be a movie that will not spoil the music.
Why am I not suprprised doc..?
Incidentally Cassablanca is in my all time top 10, the dialogue snap crackles and pops, it's moral story about how love conquers all, it's selfless and charming it's one of the greats, although best HB movie IMHO is probably The African Queen, matter of taste though...
"Round up the usual suspects."
Which incidentally is also in my top 10.

Kujan': It was Keaton's idea to rob the taxi service, wasn't it?
Verbal: [sobbing] Yes, yes, it was all Keaton! We followed him from the beginning! I didn't know! I saw him die! I believe he's dead, oh Christ!
Kujan: You saw what he wanted you to see. He chose you because he knew he could manipulate you. Because you're weaker than them.
Verbal: Do...do you really think he was...
Kujan: Keyser Söze? I don't know, Verbal. Keyser Söze's a shield, or, like you say, a spook story. But if I know Keaton, he's not going to let this go. You're not safe on your own.
Verbal: [defiantly] I'll take my chances, thank you.
Kujan: If there really is a Keyser Söze, he's going to come looking for you. Turn state's evidence. You may never see trial.
Verbal: Maybe so. But I'm not a rat, Agent Kujan. [turns to leave, and then takes one last look at Kujan] Fuckin' cops!
Another one of those films where the dialogue is just sublime.

Not that anyone is going to watch it but if you a movie nerd, it's well known they had to film this scene so many times, because the actors just could not stop laughing at the dialogue, you can kinda see it. One of the funniest most memorable scenes I think I have ever seen. And no that is not a pun.
Just look at the cast list, when you have that many good actors in one room, you know you are going to see something special. That's not acting by the way they really just can't stop laughing, it's probably what makes the scene...
"Here's looking at you kid"

Unscripted and added by Bogart apparently one of the most memorable unscripted lines I think...
Got to be up there with "What is you major malfunction son!"
and
"You talking to me?"
"No TV and no beer make Homer go crazy!"

Parody at its finest. "Heaaaaaaars Johnny!"
btw if you have not seen the Simpsons you wont get this, but suffice to say "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
You wont get it either if you didn't watch the links but since no one ever does, meh no one ever can or does so like it's cool...
