E=MC2 a philosophical blunder.
Re: E=MC2 a philosophical blunder.
To be honest, Spheres, it never occurred to me that you were calling me an idiot. The point I was making is if you want a bit more peace in your life, stop going to war over every trivial affront. It would be a bit more peaceful for the rest of us too.

How does one know this, if not for it's lack? Dichotomy is everywhere, where each side "allows for"/assures the other.uwot wrote:To be honest, Spheres, it never occurred to me that you were calling me an idiot. A matter of perspective, right? Do you really think there's a universal trivia? Isn't it true that one's trivia can be another's job? Therefore not at all trivial. Trivia is a value judgement, of relative displacement!
And that's where the rub is. Those that want it easy, do so for selfish reasons, and within that self serving lies complacency. Mediocrity?
How much is one willing to sell to have peace, as to any selfish non thoughtful endeavor, resulting in the demise of something of life?
Through this talk, epiphany: Certainly, man is at odds with other men, because mankind is not yet one, mankind is scattered all over the globe, different. Once mankind is one there shall be that ideal, to which I've alluded. Once humans look exactly the same, there shall finally be peace amongst them, all strengths combined, the perfect humans, that which I long to experience. Unfortunately, surely not in my lifetime.
What it is to be the current human, surely not yet grown, where any singular part of it, not capable of seeing the rest of it, but surely not trivial!
Re: E=MC2 a philosophical blunder.
Really depends on what you understand by peace. Personally, I think peace is an absence of conflict, a bit like cold is an absence of heat, dark an absence of light or dry an absence of water. It may be that peace is something that you can pour onto a situation; or you can stop the fighting. Do you think the outcome would be any different?SpheresOfBalance wrote:How does one know this, if not for it's lack? Seriously, Spheres, if what people you are never likely to meet think of you isn't trivial, what are you making a value judgement relative to? What sort of life are you living in which there are things that matter less?SpheresOfBalance wrote:A matter of perspective, right? Do you really think there's a universal trivia? If you say so, Spheres; after all, you are the one dreaming of this:SpheresOfBalance wrote:And that's where the rub is. Those that want it easy, do so for selfish reasons, and within that self serving lies complacency. Mediocrity?

My point is that if the only conflict one experiences is through argument, such that we can then know peace, that's an awesome thing, as now it's death and destruction opposite peace. Personally I'll take argument any day.

Honestly uwot, I'm only here to learn, exercise my mind, and hopefully shed some light for those that may be in the dark. And that's it. So what one thinks about my words is important to my mission here. And to me it's honestly not trivial, seriously. It's all I currently have to feel self worth. I have no job, all children are grown. I want to help people before I die, or else I'll feel my life was in vain! Right now this is all that I have to accomplish such an endeavor.

It's what I truly believe, which is not to say that I know it all, as I surely don't, but one can only go at their pace, no? I mean no harm to anyone, only enlightenment, on some things, as I receive the same, it's that simple. My views do include everyone, they are not selfish! Though I can be stern.
And yes, I actually do believe this to be true, barring us killing ourselves off first, honestly.SpheresOfBalance wrote:Through this talk, epiphany: Certainly, man is at odds with other men, because mankind is not yet one, mankind is scattered all over the globe, different. All very laudable.SpheresOfBalance wrote:Honestly uwot, I'm only here to learn, exercise my mind, and hopefully shed some light for those that may be in the dark. And that's it.
You're on a hiding to nothing if you see this as a mission.SpheresOfBalance wrote:So what one thinks about my words is important to my mission here.
I wouldn't tell your children that you think your life has been in vain. You're a good sort, Spheres, but you are helping no one by ranting at people on a forum with a limited readership. There are people out in the real world who need help and whose lives you can really improve. You could get involved with a charity or political party and actually do something. If your self esteem depends on you changing the world by barking at a tiny fraction of it, I'm afraid you're fucked, me old China.SpheresOfBalance wrote:And to me it's honestly not trivial, seriously. And the origin of this phrase is???uwot wrote:You're on a hiding to nothing if you see this as a mission.SpheresOfBalance wrote:So what one thinks about my words is important to my mission here.
You misunderstand, that is not a great accomplishment, you've got to be kidding me, one's hormones rage and a child is born, anyone can do it. I'm talking about real groundbreaking accomplishment, that is what I wish to give someday before I die. Which has nothing to do with the love of a family. As a matter of fact population explosion, is a big concern these days, yet some Catholics boast sometimes 12 or more, a really bad idea.uwot wrote:I wouldn't tell your children that you think your life has been in vain.SpheresOfBalance wrote:And to me it's honestly not trivial, seriously. Ranting by some's measure, but I could care less, fools they be, as purely perspective it is that they purport. Like the consciousness threads, all simply 'conjecture,' and they actually take themselves serious, what a joke, talk about ranting, sheesh. What's next gods and faeries? The truth is no one can know if there really is such a thing as consciousness in the way they're trying to box it up, and sell it, like so much swamp land. I trust in physics, biology and psychology but as to consciousness those here are just rolling dice. But I digress.uwot wrote:You're a good sort, Spheres, but you are helping no one by ranting at people on a forum with a limited readership.
I have learned much since I've been here, as well as contributed to the true thinkers. And learning continues...
Most are just a means to balance an economy, they don't really help save anyone, else then they'd have no job.uwot wrote:There are people out in the real world who need help and whose lives you can really improve. You could get involved with a charity or political party and actually do something.
You've got to be kidding me! I absolutely hate liars and thieves, as much as I hate those that would try and sell you something you don't really need. Politics, what a joke! Here in the US I characterize it as lucky enough to pick the lessor of two evils. Though Obama has made a little headway, or so it seems.
It's not really about self esteem, it's about really counting as a contributor to the human races longevity and success, so that they may finally see their selfish ways, then hopefully changing to avoid self annihilation, as surely it's on the horizon. And philosophies are key in this endeavor.uwot wrote:If your self esteem depends on you changing the world by barking at a tiny fraction of it, I'm afraid you're fucked, me old China.
No, I only bark at those that bark, that's their problem, not mine.
And this phrase's origin is???
As far as me being fucked, as you've said, well just as much as anyone else here. Sure we all have a learning curve, until the day we die, lest one's not very wise, as seeking the truth never stops, until we know of the entire universe, that day which is set far into the distant future. I'm afraid mankind may not get there, and I want to ensure he does. My passion in seeking truth has, for quite some time now, and shall always be, philosophy and all it's children.

I don't know why you didn't explain those phrases to me, but never mind, I searched and found them, thanks anyway!
Re: E=MC2 a philosophical blunder.
Well, I was going to suggest you google them. The point is, Spheres, if you want to break new ground, it helps if you know what ground has already been broken. The technique is the same as for Cockney rhyming slang. Groundbreaking ideas usually come to people who do a lot of research.SpheresOfBalance wrote:I don't know why you didn't explain those phrases to me, but never mind, I searched and found them, thanks anyway!

In truth though, no one knows why those that have done so, do so. I think we all do research to some extent or another, sometimes one can do too much research, and sometimes too little.uwot wrote:Well, I was going to suggest you google them. Why would I say that, you may wonder. Because if one does too little, they may miss an important bit, that makes all else clear, while one that does to much, could incorporate a sponge of belief into their foundation, a mist of confusion to obscure their vision, thus causing the entire structure to tilt in the direction of absurdity.
I think that in the shadow of the plethora, of all that actually is, in truth, one does the amount that is just right, despite them possibly not knowing that it was. Just the luck of the draw, like a lottery, or maybe there are those that are drawn to it, like moths to a flame, some sort of sensing, that is more in-tune to the universe itself, that which created us all. Who is to say, what the truth is in this case, how much "research" has actually been done as to this question? And could it ever be sure, as to the actuality of the matter?
