Plato’s Ideal Ruler Today
Re: Plato’s Ideal Ruler Today
In many respects this is a dumb article, imagining that politicians should be or could be philosopher kings as per Plato. Plato himself was a dreamer of the impossible. Furthermore, there is no such or ever could be a philosopher king. And if there are philosopher kings they are not suited for politics. Philosophers in general are wimps in the arena of politics. And there is no way that having a love of wisdom would make them any better or superior to the run of the mill politicians.
Philosopher kings can be as fallible as anybody else. And no one person, like a philosopher king, could have all the answers on how to run a governing system.
Philosophy Now has an aware for fighting stupidity. I should get an award for fighting this stupid idea of philosopher kings.
Get real!
