Health Policy of the American Energy Party (AEP)

How should society be organised, if at all?

Well, under the AEP, you wouldn't have sales tax or any other taxes, including a property tax if you decided to live in a cave with no possessions.

IF the AEP should ever come to power, and IF some AEP proxy comes a'knockin', lookin' for the AEP's tribute (property taxes) I'll respond as I would if any common lowlife came a'lookin' to take that which is not his.

#

"Bottom line is that the government is basically protecting property"

Never asked 'it' to.

On multiple occasions I've done that (protected my self, my property) on my own.

Don't need overpaid jackboots muckin' around my business.

#

"social integration"..."human rights"

You're a *communitarian, Bob.

*just about the worst thing a body can be (in my view), and, the worst insult I can levy against another person

I'm afraid you're a throwback to the Dark Ages, but good luck.

Thank God there are relatively few people like you, enabling society to exist without total anarchy.

HA!

If more were like me (self-responsible, self-directing, capable, and self-sufficient) it would be different world, yes, but not an anarchic one.

The true anarchy comes when more and more depend on fewer and fewer for the necessities.

Eventually, the fewer are 'too few' and the more 'overflow' and then everything goes belly up.

With me (and folks like me): I take care of me so I got no reason to go riotin' and lootin' and whatnot just to eat or clothe and shelter myself.

Folks like you (systemizers and know-it-alls) never see the value of encouraging DIY and always look to play overseer (thus ensuring the cancer of 'governing' is never eliminated or even reduced).

Folks like you always want point out the deficiencies in another's garden when you ought to be mindin' your own.

King of the who..?

The Britons.

Well I didn't vote for you.

You don't vote for kings!

Well I didn't know we had a King, I thought we were an autonomous collective...

You're fooling yourself we're living in a Dictatorship, a self perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes...

You can't base a system of government on the fact that some watery tart lobbed a sword at you. Supreme executive power comes from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. I mean if I went around saying I was an Emporer just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me they'd lock me away! ;)

Ah now we see the violence inherent in the system!

Under your system, everybody's on his own, to do what he wants, and no laws to stop him - might makes right. I believe that's the essence of anarchy.

See?

You take 'self-responsible, self-directing, capable, and self-sufficient' and reframe it as 'everybody's on his own, to do what he wants, and no laws to stop him'.

You presume I promote license when I promote self-control.

Saul Alinsky would be proud of you.

That's fine and dandy that you exercise self-control, but even in a society with police, other people don't, and in your dream world, you'd be afraid to go to sleep at night.

There is a difference between 'self-control' and 'out of control', we need more people like Henry, not fewer. And especially more people that think like Henry in the government, so that the government will leave the people alone. If that means some people do something stupid and get themselves killed, OK. On them, not on me. The governments only legitimate role is to protect people from each other, and outside forces, not from themselves.

*sigh*

No shit, Bob.

I didn't describe (or, proscribe) a dream world, Bob (just a different one), and, I (always will) sleep just fine with Mr. Stoeger by my side.

##

You talk crazier than Henry, but I'll say he does come by his last name honestly.
