The message of New Atheism is that it is time to take a far less accommodating attitude toward religion, including moderate religion, than has been exhibited in previous years by atheist authors and, in particular, by non-believing scientists.
TRANSLATION:

The message of New Atheism is that they want to start yet another sect of intolerant true believers who will go forth in to battle over questions no one is in a position to answer, thus replicating and spreading the worst qualities of the enterprise they hope to defeat.

Oh, and this is called reason. That too.

Nothing lazy about it as it was an apposite comment upon your post.

I can only assume that you stopped reading as soon as you got to a sentence that suited your pet idea. As if you'd read further you'd have found the questions and the answers that the New Atheists wish to reason about.
