I think canned beer was better, but meh each to his own.

Just as matter of interest. England didn't forget about the Magna Carta. As Blaggard said, most of the provisions were repealed over time.
Re: Government Disease of Crony Capitalism
Actually expanded upon and improved into a parliamentary and legal system, they didn't forget anything they just made it more democratic, which America then copied. But he's right. Bob you would do well to actually know something about the history of a country before you make silly comments about it, but then I tend to get the impression with most and certainly not all, that their country is superior to all others simply by reflected glory and the fact they were born in it, and besides who needs history when you can just write bs on wiki about how you won WWI and WWII single handed and also beat the Mechastalin in WWIII with the help of Chuck Norris and Arnold Schwarzenegger?Ginkgo wrote:

House of parliament, House of lords, America senate and house. It's the same. Also of course you use our legal system which was founded on the basic principles expoused in the magna carta. I know Americans generally don't do much European history if at all, but if you are going to mock a country it pays to know your facts.

Oh, so that's why England wound up in the shit-can of history.Ginkgo wrote:Just as matter of interest. England didn't forget about the Magna Carta. As Blaggard said, most of the provisions were repealed over time.

What you mean as the 21st richest nation on Earth, or 5th if you go by it's influence, owner of the largest empire in the history of the world? Member of the big 8 in the UN security council, influential across the world because most people speak English as a second language or first, including you.bobevenson wrote:Oh, so that's why England wound up in the shit-can of history.Ginkgo wrote:Just as matter of interest. Bob just shut up now you are embarrassing yourself, I am not saying England is by any stretch of the imagination remotely perfect or indeed ever had been, but your lack of knowledge of history is depressing.
You have no more knowledge about European countries than you do about The Bible, and to hear you wax lyrical on either is but another fall of man.

Wait a minute, I've never claimed to be knowledgeable about the first 65 wrapping-paper books of the Bible, only the 66th, the book of Revelation, an Ouzo combination that adds up to mankind in English gematria simplex (A=1 to Z=26).Blaggard wrote:You have no more knowledge about European countries than you do about The Bible.
Re: Government Disease of Crony Capitalism
You're woefully unaware of either the history the reason for its inclusion the language it was written in even of the last book. I am an atheist and I know more about Christianity than you do, that's not right bob, that's just not right.bobevenson wrote:Wait a minute, I've never claimed to be knowledgeable about the first 65 wrapping-paper books of the Bible, only the 66th, the book of Revelation, an Ouzo combination that adds up to mankind in English gematria simplex (A=1 to Z=26).Blaggard wrote:You have no more knowledge about European countries than you do about The Bible.
No offence and certainly none taken if you criticise England I am amongst it's harshest critics, but it does behoove you to at least have some knowledge about history if you are going to attack a country, if you did you'd probably find me right there I am not proud of our history either.
I am not a patriot as such, I don't believe patriotism is flying your flag, I believe it is knowing your countries flaws, and hence being ready to question it when it once again does something facking numb nut.
“I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.”
― James Baldwin
“The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.”
― H.L. Mencken
“There are two kinds of patriotism -- monarchical patriotism and republican patriotism. In the one case the government and the king may rightfully furnish you their notions of patriotism; in the other, neither the government nor the entire nation is privileged to dictate to any individual what the form of his patriotism shall be. The gospel of the monarchical patriotism is: "The King can do no wrong." We have adopted it with all its servility, with an unimportant change in the wording: "Our country, right or wrong!" We have thrown away the most valuable asset we had:-- the individual's right to oppose both flag and country when he (just he, by himself) believed them to be in the wrong. We have thrown it away; and with it all that was really respectable about that grotesque and laughable word, Patriotism.”
― Mark Twain

My modest claim is being the only person in history to understand the book of Revelation, nothing more and nothing less.Blaggard wrote:I am an atheist and I know more about Christianity than you do.
Re: Government Disease of Crony Capitalism
That's not a modest claim bob, a modest claim would be that you understood how to tie your shoe laces just like your mum taught you. Being more capable than nigh on 2000 years of theologians is anything but humility.bobevenson wrote:My modest claim is being the only person in history to understand the book of Revelation, nothing more and nothing less.Blaggard wrote:I am an atheist and I know more about Christianity than you do.

My deep understanding of the book of Revelation should be apparent to anyone reading "The Ouzo Prophecy," particularly "Notes on the Ouzo Cross."Blaggard wrote:That's not a modest claim bob.bobevenson wrote:My modest claim is being the only person in history to understand the book of Revelation, nothing more and nothing less.Blaggard wrote:I am an atheist and I know more about Christianity than you do.

Bob no they are not I read your link I though it was a clever parody of other silly conspiracies, and never for one moment thought you were serious. Sorry that's not meant to be insulting but your idea is pretty funny. :Sbobevenson wrote: My deep understanding of the book of Revelation should be apparent to anybody reading "The Ouzo Prophecy," particularly the "Notes on the Ouzo Cross."
I was sure you were parodying other end of the world religions who stood on mountain tops waiting for the rapture and ended up disappointed, at least when I read it but maybe I was wrong. I still hold out hope you are a funny man though bob.

Did you read the letter from the spokesman for the Spiritual Counterfeits Project (http://church-of-ouzo.com/pdf/spiritual ... rfeits.pdf)? He didn't thnk it was a parody, and he should know.Blaggard wrote:Bob, no they are not, I read your link and thought it was a clever parody.bobevenson wrote: My deep understanding of the book of Revelation should be apparent to anybody reading "The Ouzo Prophecy," particularly the "Notes on the Ouzo Cross."
Re: Government Disease of Crony Capitalism
Bob I don't care if God himself came down and pronounced you as the next Messiah, it's just nonsense mate. And I am truly sorry if that offends you, it is not meant to, but you my friend are full of shit. Just another person on the internet trying to sell an ideal, I have to give you one thing though unlike Grey at least you don't charge for your religion. That guy is so buried up his own ass, he wont see the light ever, you at least seem intelligent enough to discuss things with people who don't believe you. That's a good thing mate, because...bobevenson wrote:Did you read the letter from the spokesman for the Spiritual Counterfeits Project (http://church-of-ouzo.com/pdf/spiritual ... rfeits.pdf)? I am Bob the Baptist, the new guru, the modern messiah, and the wizard of Ouzo. I guess that pretty well covers it.Blaggard wrote:Bob I don't care if God himself came down and pronounced you as the next Messiah.
