This reminds me of a story,
The Barber
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and un-kept. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens is, people don't go to Him."

“A Russian astronaut and a Russian brain surgeon were once discussing religion. The brain surgeon was a Christian but the astronaut was not. The astronaut said, 'I've been out in space many times but I've never seen God or angels.' And the brain surgeon said, 'And I've operated on many clever brains but I've never seen a single thought.”

Well since I have spent most of my life basically claiming I am agnostic only to be told I am really an atheist by atheists and a stubborn agnostic by theists, I can't argue with that. Atheists do exist though.

Well I am sure you can see the logical flaws in this story without me pointing them out, I have a fair sized beard and unkempt hair at this very time, not lying genuinely do, and I do believe barbers exist.

but why do those 'hardcore' atheist deny the possibility of any God in any possible form?
and why do those 'hardcore' theist deny the possibility of any absence of any sentient God?
doubt no doubt, uncertainties and certainties, illusions and life, understanding and knowing?
tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things.
Life's not a puppet show, its for you to make the best of it.
Maybe its a puppet show, and maybe God doesnt exist?
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Any way the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to
me
Mama, ooo - (any way the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters nothing really matters to me
Anyway the wind blows
Re: What is your moral compass?
Well we are on the same page so don't ask me I don't know, but apparently not knowing means you're an atheist by the power of some magic I did not understand then and don't now. I gave up on the more militant atheists years ago as I did the more militant theists, it's two sides of the same coin, they are both full of shit. And anyone who quotes Queen lyrics is cool by me.Perceiving exists. wrote:dont worry about me worryingBlaggard wrote:Oh don't worry I wont, any more than I listen to militant atheists.

Don't get me wrong I think I side more logically with the average atheist, but not if he or she is going to tell me what I think.

Dont get me wrong, because life actually is, i logically side more with an theistic view, being an agnostic deist by means of the first cause, what ever that meansBlaggard wrote:Well we are on the same page so don't ask me I don't know, but apparently not knowing means you're an atheist by the power of some magic I did not understand then and don't now. and yeah both sides of the coin are full of shit, because you never can see both sides at the same time, nor what is in between ^^

Nature, she fascinates me, true nature that is, and maybe this tendency towards harmony is coincidence, but it is either way, isn't it?
life is the tendency to perceive and understand, because it can or because it must
Because it cannot do different, for life to be?
Live
live is life
live
live.
When we all give the power
we all give the best.
Every minute of an hour
don't think about a rest.
Then you all get the power
you all get the best.
When everyone gives everything and every song everybody sings.
Then it's live
live is life
live is life
live.
Live is life - when we all feel the power.
Live is life - come on
stand up and dance!
Live is life - when the feeling of the people -
Live is life - is the feeling of the band.
When we all give the power
we all give the best. . . .
Double up or quit
Double stake or split
The ace of spades
You know I'm born to lose
And gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it baby
I don't wanna live forever
And don't forget the joker
Alphaville - Forever Young ^^

That was not the point of the story, the man in the street probably also believed that barbers existed, along with untrimmed beards and unkempt hair.

some people just dont want to see both sides of the coin because they are not ready yet and still afraid of what is or could be in between. its hard to give up illusions and trade them for uncertainties.
I dont wanna say im right, but yeah, i am
There are only two 'religions'
(Stubborn) agnostics and those who dont care for 'religion', all fall somewhere in between?
the universe/time etc. always existed
the universe came into existence
the universe will never end
the universe will end
any possible combination, or none at all.
what else could it be??
what ever you forgot to mention
