You have my deepest sympathy. Unless you are an Alcoholic, Sobriety, like sanity, is much over-rated.
I was joking, if my humour is not to your taste so be it, I hardly think you should be accusing people of things like alcoholism or insanity, you don't even know, seems a bit of an odd comment to make to me, but meh people are like that...

Clearly we are culturally very different, we have different tastes in humour, which is no bad thing, but I don't think I deserved to be demeaned because you didn't get my sense of humour, do you?

I grew up in England, you I presume in America where sexual morés are different. It's not that big a deal, these days though it's not considered a faux pas to talk about prostitution, sexuality or anything to do with sex, in fact it's considered perfectly normal; or porn for that matter or what one man might do to one woman or man or even a chicken. j/k

No one in my neck of the woods would care any more, but I am sure tastes and moral morés do differ so if I offended you so be it. I'll refrain from making jokes about whores in future if I know you are going to be present or there is a chance.

Start with the assumption it's supposed to be funny:

If they are serious, it's even funnier:

I was brought up on the Sex Pistols and Motorhead, bands my parents absolutely hated. At the time I thought there could never be any music so horrible that I could hate it. I really hate The Cancer Bats. The noise they make is bloody awful, but the world would be a worse place if there was nothing kids could love that their parents hated. My children don't like the Cancer Bats either, but at least the option is there.

Well they would qualify as shouting at the listener, as opposed to actually singing.

I suppose my kids had to hunt pretty hard to find some kind of music that I didn't like, or at least would listen to. I listen to Jazz sometimes but my wife doesn't like it.

Humor is extremely difficult on an internet forum, as our most recent exchange on this thread clearly illustrate. I was being no more serious that you were, and in no way was I accusing you of anything or attempting to insult you. Actually I did get that it was meant as "Not Serious" but it seems that you did not get that with mine. or did you? And I don't think we are as different as you seem to think, or is that another attempt at humor?

Culturally my interests run from 'high brow' to 'low brow' and much that is in between. In Some areas I am a bit sophisticated and in others I have no taste at all. But that's just me.

Ah don't worry doc no harm no foul, I know how hard humour is to carry off on the internet, even smilies are no substitute for body language and a tone of voice. I apologise if I didn't get you. Shit happens... :)

If everyone had the same tastes they'd just show Friends or its derivatives on TV all the time to the world, oh no wait... ;)

This thread is my sense of humour I by no means expect anyone to find any of it as funny as I do, although if you don't I think you might want to just watch Friends and its derivatives for the rest of your life, which is of course fine. :)

I haven't taken offence at anything yet, and I have no idea where you got the idea that I would be offended by talking about whores or prostitutes, I don't recall posting anything about them. Actually it would be very difficult for you to offend me, this is an internet forum, I don't know you except by what you post, and you don't know me except by what I post, and either of those could be completely fake, so what is there to be offended about? I am on the forum to learn different ideas and concepts, but mostly I find it entertaining, as the really meaningful dialogue is hard to find, but I keep looking, and I don't mind meaningless fluff, that can be fun too, and sometimes surprisingly deep and profound.

I like jazz by the way although I am not so fond of acid skiffle. ;)

Zappa is of course the king of mental and a legend I am not sure where that sort of weird mental health comes from but he does seem to be unbalanced, I suppose that is the basis of art? :)

Im very interested in all your favorite songs, and i will listen to them all :D

If you ask me whats my favorite song of all time would be, i would tell you i cannot tell you as much as i cant tell you my favorite color..
its the contrast between blue and orange.. and every mood has a song and vice verse, but if i had to go with one, perhaps it would be this one;

Chet Atkins & Don McLean - Vincent

but there are so many more colors..

Favorite songs can change over time, as do most other favorites. Once I was in a church choir, and the director thought we would sing better if we knew each other better, so she decided to play the favorites game. Favorite composer, food, etc, and finally favorite color, and by that time I was really getting the shits of that game. When we got to colors she started with the sopranos, as usual, and worked to the bass's where I was. Everyone else was giving the usual colors, Red, blue, green, so when it was my turn I said, (I already had a reputation) flesh. Everyone broke up with laughter, The director decided to get back to singing.
